What is the celebration about? **Bitcoin Pizza Day** is celebrated annually on **May 22nd** to commemorate the first real-world commercial transaction using Bitcoin on May 22, 2010. Programmer Laszlo Hanyecz bought two Papa John's pizzas for 10,000 BTC, which was worth about at the time. Today, this amount is worth hundreds of millions, often called the most expensive meal in history.
