Finding Your Roots

Join us for a fun and relaxed workshop covering the basics of online genealogy. In this two-hour session, Library Director Jenifer May will give an overview of various family history resources available for free with a library card. Following the group discussion, each participant will have the opportunity to try out the online research tools, ask questions, and search for their own family history.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

Adults who wish to reseach their family history. Beginners welcome!

WHAT TO BRING:

• Names & birthdates of your ancestors and their family members (as far back as possible)

• Any information about where they lived and worked or immigration details

• Any vital records- birth, marriage or death certificates or dates, military records, etc.

• Your own laptop computer or iPad/tablet (OPTIONAL)

Don’t worry if you don’t have all (or many) of these details or if they are vague. This workshop is intended to help fill those gaps!
