Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Wayne Chief of Police Joseph Rooney
announce that on June 30, 2026, members of the Wayne Police Department responded to the area
of 77 Willowbrook Boulevard on a reported car fire. When officers arrived, they found the body
of an unidentified individual in the driver’s seat. The deceased is pending an investigation by the
Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.
Although this matter remains an active and ongoing investigation, there are no suspects being
sought at this time, and there is no danger to the public.
