3808-3812 Bergen Turnpike, Union City, NJ
The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force, North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue, and the Union City Police Department are investigating a fatal fire that occurred on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
At approximately 3:45 p.m., the Union City Police Department was notified of a fire in the area of Bergen Turnpike and 38th Street. Upon arrival, first responders located a fire involving 3808 through 3812 Bergen Turnpike. During suppression activities, firefighters located a deceased individual, tentatively identified as a 74-year-old female, within a residence at 3808 Bergen Turnpike. A total of 22 residents were displaced as a result of the fire.
This matter remains under investigation by the Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force, North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue, and the Union City Police Department.
