*This trip is open to those who have volunteered in 2025 during our public program events. Our 2026 public program will start again in May.*
HCCB is completely volunteer run. Our guides generously take time out of their busy schedules to run trips and trainings. If you RSVP yes, please consider this a **commitment to attend**. If you cancel or no-show, you take a spot away from someone else. Hosts reserve the right to temporarily or permanently ban you from all their meetups if you cancel within 8 hours or are a no show. \*\*\* **Mitsuwa: Intermediate Volunteer Trip - 10 miles total** Let's go to our favorite Japanese marketplace and eat some delicious food!
**PREREQUISITES TO RSVP:** 1\. volunteered **at least** 4 shifts in 2025 **AND** 2\. completed sea kayak LV 2 in 2025 or SUP LV3 **AND** 3\. completed at least one intermediate or advanced trip in 2025 **AND** 4\. Have an intermediate time trial
**COME PREPARED:**
* At least 1 working and charged all-around white waterproof light * Wetsuit or dry suit (we may have a couple of dry suits available) * Change of clothes in a dry bag * Something warm to put on when we land * Neoprene booties (we may have some available) * Change of clothes * Water in a reusable bottle * Anything else you may need to spend 3 hours paddling in cold weather
**CRAFT:**
* Sit on top - not allowed * Sea Kayak - Level 3 * OC1/OC2 - Ke Aloha *supporting* paddlers with a Ke Aloha coach approval * SUP - only if completed +5 mile round trip in 2025 * Surfski - not allowed
**TIMELINE:** 8:00 AM Arrive at the boathouse 8:15 AM Safety briefing hard cutoff to arrive. Whoever does not make it by this time will not be able to join 8:45 AM Move boats to the beach 9:00 AM Depart from HCCB 10:30 AM Arrive at Mitsuwa 10:45 AM Land and stash boats
1 hour 15 minutes to eat and relax
12:00 PM Meet at boats, prepare gear, return safety briefing 12:15 PM Depart from Mitsuwa 2:00 PM Arrive at HCCB 2:15 PM Clean and put away equipment 2:30PM Trip ends
