In 2001, a small group of residents were denied a grant to put on the first LGBTQ Pride Festival in Jersey City. Strength Through Visibility exposes the fragility of progress and the ongoing work that continues to be done, as the festival now celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Join us for a free screening of the documentary followed by Talk Back featuring documentary stars and Jersey City LGBTQ+ community advocates:
The event is produced in collaboration between HCCC's Office of Student Life and Leadership and the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy, and with support by Jersey City Pride Festival and the City of Jersey City Office of Cultural Affairs.
