Join us at Joe Pizza on 41st and Broadway in Bayonne, New Jersey. Come chill, play chess, eat some good food, and just have a grand ol' time. All skill levels ... all ages attend. We tend to get a lot of kids, which is a nice blend with the adults. It's the kids who tend to be the best chess players these days anyway. Our youngest good chess player is seven years old. We have members of all skill levels, from beginner to National Master and beyond.
The Bayonne Chess Society & Club meets 5 evenings a week at different venues. We have a venue that goes from 1pm to 5pm on Saturdays. We just added another afternoon venue, starting Sunday. April 6th. That also goes from 1 pm to 5 pm. So, in total, we meet 6 days a week. We also have spontaneous meetups sometimes on days when nothing is scheduled. Some players can't get enough of chess.
Monday - The Vic Tavern - A 'Combo' all games night from 7pm to 11pm.
Tuesday and Wednesday's - Bruno's Pizza - All members get 25% off food, while playing chess. From 5:30pm to 10pm.
Friday - Joe's Pizza - from 7pm to 11:30pm. They're open until 3 am, so if players want to continue playing.... they can. It's a good mix of kids and adults.
Saturday - OJ Macs Pub - weather permitting, We play in their outside area from 1pm to 6pm. If it rains it's canceled.
Saturday - Mom and Pop Shop Collectibles - across the street from OJ Macs...one block over. We have a 'Combo' all games night from 6pm until 10pm.
Sunday - Weather permitting - we play at Morris Park in uptown Bayonne... from 1pm to 5 pm.
On Sundays evenings, we also have a weekly friendly club chess tournament online. All members can play... unrated... 10/5 time control. Registration is from 7pm to 7:59pm. Games start at 8pm. Must be a member of our online chess. com club to play.
We also have 'Combo Events' where members can play whatever they want. You name it, we've probably played it. We just got a jigsaw puzzle board, so, puzzles are not a thing. Some of the things we play are Scrabble, Monopoly, Mah Jongg, Skip Bo, Phase10, Uno, Dominoes, Sorry, Catan, Ticket To Ride... etc.

Please remember, the chess is FREE... the venues aren't. Please patronize the businesses that have been gracious enough to host us. They're places like pizzerias coffee shops, taverns.. etc.

If you decide to join us .... understand, we are looking for participants, serious members. People that want to have a good time and just chill will others. Non participants will be removed. They can return, when they can actually participate. We're looking for players...not joiners, who never do anything. Clubs don't grow, when people do nothing.
