One of our readers is trying to find out more about this photo in order to help track down her family history. The family surnames are Luhrmann and Glindmeyer. It is believed that the photo is taken some time around 1895-1898. The setting seems to be a park with a lake or at the edge of a river (Hackensack River?). Based on the ribbons worn by the men in the picture, perhaps this was a fishing derby or other contest. The family members pictured lived on Paterson Plank Road and at Glindmeyer's Farm on Hudson Avenue/Fifth Street (where Clarendon Elementary School is today).
