On January 27, 2023, at 10:26 pm, Millburn Police Officer O’Neill responded to a Cambridge Drive residence on a report of theft of a vehicle. The resident reported that unknown actors stole his 2020 BMW x7 while it was parked on Haddonfield Road near the Middle School. It was reported the vehicle was unlocked and the key fob had been left in the vehicle. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 27, 2023 and 11:20 pm, Millburn Police Officer Matos stopped a 2015 Dodge Dart on Millburn Ave for travelling in the wrong direction. The investigation led to the arrest of Janus Reyesfrias, age 45, of Cliffwood, NJ for driving under the influence. Reyesfrias was charged with DWI, numerous other motor vehicle violations and later released to a friend.

On January 28, 2023, Millburn Police Officer Palmer responded to a Twin Oak Road residence on a report of theft of a vehicle. The resident reported that unknown actors stole their 2018 Maserati Ghibli from their driveway sometime between midnight and 6:00 pm. The key fob had been left in the vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered in Irvington. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 29, 2023, at 1:51 am, Millburn Police Officers Bifano, Wichelns, and Griffin responded to a Fairfield Drive residence on a report of burglary to a vehicle in progress. The resident reported that three unknown actors wearing dark clothing had attempted to enter several vehicles on the street. Officer Wichelns located a suspicious vehicle at 3:13 in the same area and conducted a motor vehicle stop. The investigation revealed that the vehicle was an Uber/Lyft, and the above individuals were in the back seat. Samuel Oyetunji, age 18 of Newark, and 2 juveniles, one age 17 of Newark and one age 15 of Newark were taken into custody and charged with multiple counts attempted burglary. Oyetunji was later released on his own recognizance and the juveniles were released to a parent.

On January 29, 2023, at 1:45 pm, Millburn Police Officer Dundon responded to Macys at the Mall at Short Hills for a report of shoplifting. Macys associates reported that Kelly Harris, age 32, of Patterson concealed $720 of merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying. Harris was arrested and charged with shoplifting. She was later released on her own recognizance.

On January 30, 2023 at 7:01 am, Millburn Police Officer Dalakian responded to a Merrywood Lane residence on a report of a suspicious parked vehicle. The investigation revealed that the grey 2020 Kia Sportage was reported stolen out of Newark. While canvassing the area, officers were alerted to another residence with two stolen vehicle. The investigation revealed that at 2:17 am, three actors attempted to enter the vehicles and when they found the vehicles locked, they located an open window in the rear of the residence. They entered the residence, located the keys, and then stole a 2021 Infiniti QX8 and a 2020 BMW 530. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 31, 2023 at 5:45 am, Millburn Police Officer Lyons responded to a Wyoming Ave residence on a report of attempted burglary to a vehicle. The resident reported that unknown actors attempted to enter their vehicle while parked in the driveway at 3:21 am, but the vehicle was locked. The resident provided security footage of the incident. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On February 1, 2023 at 10:30 am, Detectives Royce and DeRosa were working on a lead from the vehicle theft incident from 1/30/23 on Merrywood Lane. They attempted to stop a suspect who had been using the victim’s credit card, in Irvington. Cedric Haywood, age 32, of Irvington, ran from the detectives but was caught after a brief foot pursuit. Haywood was arrested and charged with multiple counts of credit card fraud, resisting arrest, obstruction and CDS offenses. This investigation remains on going.

On February 2, 2023 at 9:14 am, Millburn Police Officer Czupak responded to a Winthrop Road residence on a report of residential burglary. The resident reported that unknown actors entered the home overnight and stole a purse containing a key fob. A canvass of the area revealed that they attempted to enter another home without success. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On February 2, 2023, at 4:14 pm, Millburn Police Officer Kelly responded to Nordstrom at the Mall at Short Hills for a report of shoplifting. Nordstorm associates reported that Bernice Benaksas, age 72, of Verona concealed $1008 of merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying. Benaksas was arrested and charged with shoplifting. She was later released on her own recognizance.

On February 5, 2023, at 2:01 pm, Millburn Police Officer Palmer responded to Macys at the Mall at Short Hills for a report of shoplifting. Macys associates reported that Lasha Tsikvadze, age 40, of Brooklyn, NY concealed $424 of merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying. Tsikvadze was arrested and charged with shoplifting. She was later released on her own recognizance.

These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
