Paterson Man Charged With Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JADEN VARGAS (DOB: 04/23/2002; single; stock person) of Paterson, NJ on charges of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Acting Chief Matthew Finck and the Elmwood Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Foligno.

On Thursday, February 15, 2024, the Elmwood Park Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that occurred in the past. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office revealed that JADEN VARGAS sexually assaulted a juvenile between the age of 13-16 years in Elmwood Park, NJ.

As a result of the investigation, on Friday, March 1, 2024, JADEN VARGAS was charged with three counts of second-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c (4); and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A 2C:24-4a (1). VARGAS was arrested in Elmwood Park and remanded to the Bergen County Jail for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Elmwood Park Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
