Lyndhurst Man Charged With Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Aggravated Sexual Contact

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of DONALD KUMAR DAVIS (DOB: 03/17/1990; single, strength and speed coach) of Lyndhurst, NJ, formerly of Nutley, NJ, on charges of aggravated criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Acting Chief Matthew Finck and the Wyckoff Police Department under the direction of Chief David Murphy.

As previously reported, on December 13, 2023, the Washington Township Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Washington Township Police Department revealed that DONALD KUMAR DAVIS sexually assaulted the child in Washington Township, NJ on two occasions and in Wyckoff, NJ on one occasion. On December 19, 2023, DONALD KUMAR DAVIS was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and two counts of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact.

The on-going investigation revealed a second victim, resulting in DONALD KUMAR DAVIS being charged with one additional count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1); and two additional counts of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3a. On Sunday, March 3, 2024, DAVIS was arrested in Hackensack, NJ and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Wyckoff Township Police Department and the Lyndhurst Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
