DUI Checkpoint

On March 2, 2024, the Harrison Police Department conducted a DUI Checkpoint in the area of Frank E. Rodgers Boulevard and Essex Street. During the checkpoint, officers conducted 103 motor vehicle stops. From the 103 stops, there were four DUI Arrests; three DUI arrests due to alcohol and one due to drugs. Along with the four DUI arrests, the Harrison Police Department issued 34 motor vehicle tickets for the following offenses: Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, Unlicensed Driver, Suspended Driver, Suspended Registration, Driving with no Headlights.

Along with the four DUI arrests during the DUI Checkpoint, patrol units had two additional DUI arrests.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs is a serious offense; when having a night out, make responsible decisions and do not get behind the wheel.
