New Milford Man Charged With Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of BRIAN DRISCOLL, 36, of New Milford, NJ on a charge of possession of child sexual abuse material. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Acting Chief Matthew Finck.

On Thursday, January 11, 2024, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit was contacted by the New Jersey State Parole Board regarding a parolee who violated the terms of his release and was suspected of possessing child pornography. BRIAN DRISCOLL was arrested by parole officers for violating the conditions of his release, and a subsequent investigation was initiated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit. The investigation, which involved a court-authorized search of BRIAN DRISCOLL’s electronic devices, revealed that DRISCOLL viewed, downloaded, and/or possessed a total of 1,102 items depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children.

As a result of the investigation, BRIAN DRISCOLL was arrested on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in Paramus, NJ by Cyber Crimes Unit detectives and charged with second-degree possession of child pornography, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4(b)5(b)(ii). DRISCOLL was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutor Musella thanks the New Jersey State Parole Board for its assistance with the investigation.
