Body Discovered Following a Fire at a Residence In Paterson

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, Paterson Police Department Officer In Charge Isa Abbassi, and Paterson Fire Chief Alex Alicea announce that on April 14, 2024, at approximately 11:48 p.m., the Paterson Fire Department was dispatched to 465 Hamilton Avenue in Paterson on a report of a working residential fire. While attempting to extinguish the fire, members of the Paterson Fire Department discovered a deceased male in the basement. Identification of the deceased has not been confirmed and is pending an investigation by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
