Warrant Arrests Made by Harrison Police

On April 12, 2024, Officer Delgado conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing the driver commit several moving violations and using his cell phone. After checking his driving credentials, the driver was found to have a suspended license and arrest warrants out of Bogota and Secaucus. The driver, now identified as Mr. Tristan Haynes, 35 of Teaneck, was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. Both jurisdictions released the driver on his own recognizance with a new court date. Mr. Haynes was issued several citations and released from headquarters without incident.

On April 13, 2024, Detective Lecca (while assigned to the Crime Suppression Unit) observed a male on Harrison Avenue whom he knew to have an outstanding warrant for assault. After confirming the status of the warrant, he approached the male on foot and placed him under arrest. The male was identified as Ricardo Lopez, 32 of Newark. He was processed on his warrant and transported to Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On April 14, 2024, Officer Delgado observed a white Mercedes disregarding a traffic control device near the intersection of Frank E Rodgers Blvd and Crucible Drive. A motor vehicle stop was conducted, and the driver was found to have a suspended license and a traffic warrant out of Harrison. The driver, Roland Facey, 33 of West New York, was advised of his warrant and placed under arrest. While at police headquarters, he was able to post bail and was released with a new court date.

On April 14, 2024, Officer Melendez conducted a random license plate inquiry on a vehicle which revealed that the registered owner was a wanted person out of Newark PD for Simple Assault. After confirming his findings with dispatch, he conducted a motor vehicle stop and met with the driver/registered owner identified as Newman Aguilar-Torres, 53 out of Orange. He was advised of his warrant and placed under arrest. He was transported to headquarters and arrangements were made with Newark Police for exchange of custody.
