A resident from Lexington Ave. reported her adult son removed items from her
home. Patrol responded and provided resources to facilitate an eviction process.
A report of stolen contents was taken.
1/16/2024 5:01 PM, (Domestic Violence - Assault)
A security officer from a Route 17 dispensary reported a domestic violence
assault inside a vehicle parked at the business. Responding officers reviewed
surveillance video, observed a physical assault and arrested a 35-year-old male
from Lodi. The arrestee was committed to the Bergen County Jail.
1/16/2024 6:37 PM (Unwanted Party)
A West Passaic Street hotel reported an unwanted guest. The guest was reported
to be known to leave the room in a disheveled state, and hotel management
required a security deposit. The guest, a 60-year-old male from Wyckoff, refused
to pay the deposit. Patrol Officers convinced him to seek a different hotel.
1/16/2024 10:01 PM, (Narcotics Arrest - Adult)
A patrol officer observed a vehicle with heavy tinted windows travelling on Essex
Street. A motor vehicle stop revealed the vehicle was rented, and the driver
possessed an open warrant from Fair Lawn. A consent search of the vehicle
revealed suspected Ecstasy and several stolen credit cards. The driver, a 24-year-old male from Paterson was arrested and charged with drug possession and credit
card theft.

A West Passaic Street bank reported an irate customer. The customer, a 76-year-old male resident, was unhappy that his new checks never arrived. Patrol Officers
were able to calm the angry banker and negotiated a compromise with bank
employees.
1/18/2024 9:36 AM, (Juvenile Complaint)
School Administrators reported that a student from Lodi was utilizing a Rochelle
Park bus. Police contacted the juvenile and spoke with his father. The father
agreed to arrange alternate school transportation.
1/19/2024 10:16 PM, (Arrest - Adult)
A patrol officer located a male party jaywalking on West Passaic Street. The
suspect, a 39-year-old male from Westfield, was found to possess an open
burglary warrant from Bloomfield. Officers arrested the male and turned him
over to Bloomfield Police.
1/21/2024 9:43 AM, (Domestic Violence Order)
A resident of Catherine Street responded to headquarters to request a temporary
restraining order against her estranged husband. A patrol officer assisted the
complainant, acquired the order, and served the defendant.
1/21/2024 3:15 PM, (Burglary)
A customer from a Route 17 storage facility reported a theft from her unit. The
victim reported contents valued at $9,000 were stolen. Detectives were assigned
and attempted to connect the theft to past burglaries.
1/22/2024 12:29 AM, (Weapons Offense - Arrest)
A Patrol Officer observed a vehicle travelling on Essex Street with heavily tinted
windows. A subsequent motor vehicle stop and positive indication from a County
K-9, led to a search of the vehicle. The search yielded a stolen 9mm handgun and
9.2 grams of suspected crack cocaine. A 31-year-old Englewood resident was
arrested and charged with several weapons offenses and narcotics distribution
charges.

Property Management from a West Passaic Street supermarket reported a male
party living in a vehicle on the premise. Patrol responded and located a 35-year-old male from Woodbridge. The male was explained that management requested
he vacate the parking lot and he complied.
1/22/2024 11:19 PM, (Arrest - Adult)
Security from a Passaic Street office building reported a male party sleeping in
the hallway of the building. Patrol located a 30-year-old male who previously
mopped a Rochelle Avenue school while naked. The male was arrested once
again, charged with defiant trespass and released.
1/23/2024 3:47 PM, (Aided)
An employee of a Parkway nursing facility reported a patient smoking in the
cafeteria. The 69-year-old male resident refused to turn over his lighter in
compliance with facility protocol. Responding police explained the dangers of
smoking near oxygen tanks and ill patients. Compliance was eventually met.
1/25/2024 9:07 PM, (DWI - Arrest)
A patrol officer located a vehicle parked on the entrance ramp to Route 17 South.
As he approached the vehicle he observed the driver, "passed out" with a pipe in
his mouth. Officers were able to wake the driver up. The 39-year-old male driver
from Lodi, failed field sobriety tests and possessed heroin. The driver was
arrested, charged with DWI, drug possession, and operating a vehicle while under
the influence. He was released to the custody of a family member.
1/27/2024 8:54 PM, (Breach of Peace)
A female party texted 911 from a Route 17 storage facility, reporting she wanted
to get away from the person she is with. Patrol contacted both parties and found
the male to have an active warrant out of Piscataway. The female requested
assistance separating from her boyfriend. The male was advised that she no
longer desired his company. The parties were separate and no protection orders
were sought.
1/28/2024 4:33 AM, (Breach of Peace)
A caller reported a dispute at a West Passaic Street supermarket. Responding
officers learned that two drivers were involved in a fender bender in New York.
One driver began to follow the other until they ultimately arrived in Rochelle
Park. The drivers, both NY residents, were advised to report the collision to
NYPD officials.
1/28/2024 4:46 PM (Unwanted Person)
A West Passaic Street restaurant reported an unruly patron seated at the bar. The
patron, a 63-year-old male from Paramus, was met by patrol and requested to
vacate the premise. The male requested a ride to another Passaic Street
restaurant. His request was denied and he left willingly.
1/29/2024 11:26 PM (DWI - Arrest)
A patrol officer observed a white Honda travel through a red light on Rochelle
Avenue. A motor vehicle stop ensued and the driver, a 24 year old female from
Paterson, was administered field sobriety tests. After failing the on-scene tests,
the driver was arrested and transported to headquarters. Once inside headquarters
a breath test was refused. Several summonses were issued and the female arrestee
was committed to a local hospital.
1/30/2024 1:31 AM (Arrest - Adult)
A patrol officer observed a vehicle travelling behind him with their high beams
activated. A motor vehicle stop was conducted and an open bottle of Hennessy
was located in the rear seat. The passenger, a 41-year-old male from Bergenfield,
was found to have an open child support warrant from the Bergen County
Sheriff's Office. The warrant was confirmed, the male was arrested, and
transferred to the Bergen County Jail.
1/30/2024 12:27 PM (Arrest - Adult)
A patrol Sergeant conducted a motor vehicle stop of a Honda with heavy tinted
windows. During the stop a rear seat passenger was found to not be wearing a
seatbelt. A computer check of the passenger revealed a $3,500 traffic warrant out
of Pequannock. The passenger, a 22-year-old male from West Milford, was
arrested and turned over to West Milford Police.
1/31/2024 1:43 PM (Narcotics Arrest)
Detectives observed two parties acting suspiciously on Midland Street. A vehicle
was approached and detectives observed a kilogram of cocaine on the front seat.
Two male parties aged 28 and 45 of the Bronx, were arrested and charged with
possession of C.D.S. with the intent to distribute. Investigation is ongoing.
1/31/2024 7:53 PM (Breach of Peace)
A motorist reported a road rage incident on Route 17. Two drivers argued over
being cut off. Each exited their vehicle with one slapping the hand of another.
Cell phone photographs captured a license plate. The complaint was advised of
the civilian complaint process.

A patrol officer was flagged down by a pedestrian on Passaic Street. The male,
who was recently removed from a restaurant, was complaining of shortness of
breath. Responding EMT's determined the male, a 63-year-old from Paramus,
was under the influence of multiple substances, and required medical
commitment.
In addition, (21) suspicious persons/vehicles were vetted and (89) motor vehicle
stops were conducted in a 14-day span.
A charge is not a conviction. All persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges can be amended or dismissed.
