1. On April 3, 2025, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Police Officer Brian Kim processed the arrest
of 24-year-old Tyrese Buckhannon of Hoboken, who was brought to Hoboken Police
Headquarters by Harrison Police Officers. Buckhannon was wanted on a warrant out of Hoboken
for defiant trespassing. He was charged with bail jumping and ultimately transported to the
Hudson County Correctional Facility.
2. On April 3, 2025, at approximately 3:05 a.m., Police Officers Brian Kim and Nicholas
Losurdo responded to Hoboken University Medical Center, 308 Willow Ave., on reports of a
woman who attempted to hit a security guard. When they arrived, they observed security officers
escorting the woman, later identified as 55-year-old Ivecka Leonard of North Arlington, off
hospital property. An on-scene investigation revealed Leonard moved a chair that belonged to
someone else, without permission. When security intervened, she began to act disorderly. While
being escorted out of the hospital, she began to flail her arms hitting one of the security guards.
She was issued a summons for harassment and released into the custody of an area hospital.
3. On April 3, 2025, at approximately 2:20 p.m., Police Officers Arturo Gonzalez, Marco
Grossmann, Frank Lombardo, and Anthony Rutkowski responded to the 400 block of Monroe
Street on reports of a man naked and conducting a lewd act on the steps of a residential building
that he didn’t live in. Sgt. Steven Kranz and Sgt. James Barbro arrived on the scene to assist.
Upon arrival, officers saw the actor, later identified as 38-year-old Daniel Pena of Union City,
standing in the vestibule naked and in full view of the public. He was placed under arrest. A
search incident to arrest recovered a glass cylinder with burn marks on one side and steel wool.
Pena was transported to the Hoboken Police Department to be processed on charges of burglary,
lewdness, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson
County Correctional Facility.
4. On April 3, 2025, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Police Officers Cynthia Rivera and Brian Kim
responded to Union City where 33-year-old Medina Grant of Newark, had been arrested for
shoplifting and criminal trespassing. It was discovered she had a warrant for harassment out of
Hoboken. Grant was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, processed on the warrant, and
ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
5. On April 3, 2025, at approximately 9:25 p.m., Police Officer Christopher Soto responded to
the 900 block of Monroe Street, where Sgt. Frances McCourt had stopped a man who fit the
description of an individual wanted in North Bergen. Police Officer Harry Montalvo arrived on
the scene to assist. A warrant out of Union City was confirmed. It was discovered the man,
identified as 42-year-old Robert Smith of West New York, also had a warrant out of Hoboken
for possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia. A search incident to arrest located a
clear cylindrical glass tube with a burnt end, packed with steel wool, three metal rods, and three
crystal rock-like substances wrapped in tinfoil suspected to be CDS crack cocaine. He was
transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing and additionally charged with
possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia. Smith was provided a new court date
for the warrant in Union City and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional
Facility.
6. On April 4, 2025, at approximately 12:45 p.m., Police Officers Daniel Barron and Aaron Font
responded to the Bon Jovi Rest Stop in South Amboy to meet up with Howell Police Officers
and take custody of a 35-year-old Jason Talanquines of Staten Island. Talanquines was wanted
out of Hoboken on an aggravated assault, which took place at Wicked Wolf Tavern, 120 Sinatra
Dr., in December 2022 and left the victim unconscious and with several injuries. A follow-up
investigation led by Det. Sgt. Adam Colon identified Talanquines as the actor. On April 4, after
being transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and processed, he was transported to the
Hudson County Correctional Facility.
7. On April 4, 2025, at approximately 7:40 p.m., Police Officers David Smentkowsi and Mario
Rodriguez responded to CVS, 59 Washington St., on reports of a shoplifting where the actor had
already left the scene. An on-scene investigation revealed a man placed several cosmetic items,
totaling approximately $404, into a black bag and then left without paying. Sgt. Harold Milne
observed a man that fit the description of the actor on Third Street and ordered him to stop. The
man, later identified as 39-year-old Eugene Ortiz of Jersey City, backed away. Sgt. Milne
smelled the odor of CDS PCP emanating from Oritz’ breath. He attempted to place Ortiz in
handcuffs, but Ortiz pulled away. Sgt. John Quinones arrived on the scene to assist. Ortiz
continued to resist. Police Officers Donovan Ortiz, Stephen Chowanec, Chrisopher Soto, and
Joseph Lupo arrived on the scene to assist. Ortiz continued to resist arrest by tensing his arms,
causing a minor injury to one of the responding officers. He was eventually handcuffed and
confirmed to be the actor in the shoplifting. Ortiz was ultimately transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters and charged with shoplifting, resisting arrest, and obstructing the administration of
the law. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
8. On April 5, 2025, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Police Officers Christopher Soto and Brian
Kim responded to the area of Third Street and Willow Avenue on reports of a woman running up
and down the block screaming. An on-scene investigation revealed that a man, later identified as
49-year-old Oscar Restogomez of East Orange, grabbed the woman’s phone as she walked down
Park Avenue, and threw it when bystanders began to chase him. He was held on the scene by
witnesses until the officers arrived. Restogomez attempted to resist arrest by turning his body
and moving away from the officers who were trying to handcuff him, which they ultimately were
able to do. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, and it was discovered
Restogomez had an outstanding warrant out of Harrison. He was charged with robbery,
processed, and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
9. On April 5, 2025, at approximately 1:20 a.m., Police Officers Ronald Kibitlewski and Frank
Losurdo were conducting a sweep of a Hoboken Housing Authority building on the 500 block of
Marshall Drive when they observed two individuals on the seventh-floor landing of a stairwell. It
was discovered that one of the individuals, later identified as 35-year-old Vanessa Kelly of
Hoboken, had multiple warrants for her arrest. Police Officers Anish Bhisey and David Chicara
arrived to assist. Kelly was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with defiant
trespassing and bail jumping. She was processed on an outstanding warrant for obstructing the
administration of law out of Hoboken and another for simple assault out of Jersey City. Kelly
was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
10. On April 5, 2025, at approximately 1:55 a.m., Sgt. Michael Losurdo witnessed a man in the
driver's seat of a parked vehicle, vomiting out of the open door on the 50 block of Newark Street.
A field sobriety test was conducted, after which the driver, identified as 25-year-old Bryan
Taveras of Weehawken, was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. He was
transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and issued summonses for careless driving and
driving while intoxicated. As per John’s Law, he was released into the custody of a responsible
party.
11. On April 6, 2025, at approximately 3:20 a.m., Police Officers Marvin DeJesus and Keven De
La Cruz responded to the 50 block of Washington Street, where Sgt. Roary Miller had been
approached by someone who saw one man threaten another with a knife. Witnesses pointed out
the actor, later identified as 27-year-old Colin Downer of Bayonne. When officers stopped him,
they located a folding knife that matched a description of the knife used in the incident. Downer
was placed under arrest for aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession
of a weapon for unlawful purpose. He was transported to Police Headquarters where it was
discovered he had two outstanding warrants out of Bayonne. He was processed and transported
to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
12. On April 7, 2025, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Police Officers Ahmed Makshat and Stephen
Chowanec were traveling on Newark Street when they saw a woman they identified as 48-year-old Stacy Bulter of Hoboken and knew she had a warrant out of Hoboken. They stopped her on
the 50 block of Newark Street, a warrant for making terroristic threats was confirmed, and she
was placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest located CDS, a cylindrical pipe, the ink
cartridge of a pen commonly used as a push rod, and copper wiring. She was charged with bail
jumping, possession of CDS, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Butler was ultimately
transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
13. On April 7, 2025, at approximately 8:35 p.m., Police Officers Vincent Guastini and David
Smentkowski responded to the area of River and Newark Streets on reports that an individual
was holding a stun gun, and threatening people nearby. They observed a man who fit the
description of the actor, later identified as 43-year-old Jermaine McGinnis of New York, and
stopped him. Sgt. Roary Miller, Sgt. Harold Milne, and Police Officers Enrico Gnassi,
Christopher Soto, and Brian Kim arrived on the scene to assist. Officers located the stun gun on
McGinnis, and it was confirmed to be active. McGinnis was placed under arrest and transported
to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He was charged with making terroristic threats, unlawful
weapon possession, and possession of weapons for unlawful purposes. It was discovered he had
a warrant out of Wexford, PA, as well as several felony convictions, including one for weapons
assault. He was also charged with certain persons not to have a weapon. He was ultimately
transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
14. On April 7, 2025, at approximately 11:10 p.m., Police Officers Matthew Bonanno and John
Rodriguez were on patrol when they observed a car drive into a parked vehicle on Sixth Street
near Harrison Street. They approached the car and detected the odor of alcoholic beverage
emanating from the vehicle. They also observed the driver, later identified as 31-year-old
Jackeline Fuentesluna of Union City, to be slurring her words. Sgt. Roary Miller and Police
Officers Alexander Miller and Rose Kanan arrived on the scene at this time. A standardized field
sobriety test was performed, after which Fuentesluna was placed under arrest for driving while
intoxicated. She was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where Fuentesluna refused to
provide a breath sample. A search of her car located three cans of beer, and a Grand Marnier shot
bottle. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, open container of
alcohol, refusal to take samples of breath, refusal to submit to test, failure to exhibit insurance,
and operating with a probationary license after 11:01 p.m. As per John’s Law, Fuentesluna was
released into the custody of a responsible party.
15. On April 8, 2025, at approximately 1:15 a.m., Police Officers Christopher Soto and
Valentino Salgado responded to the 600 block of Bloomfield Street on reports of a man trying to
start a fire in the street. Sgt. Michael Straten and Police Officers Aidan Gonzalez and Carmen
Benitez observed a man who matched a description of the individual on the 200 block of
Bloomfield Street. They stopped him and the man refused to provide identification and his name.
Officers asked the man to lower his voice, since he was causing a disturbance, but he refused and
continued to yell. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and was transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters, where he was identified as 25-year-old Shreesh Pun of Hoboken. Pun was
processed and released on a summons.
16. On April 8, 2025, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Police Officers Mario Rodriguez and
Donovan Ortiz responded to Walgreens, 1300 Willow Ave., on reports of a shoplifting in which
the actor had left the store. An on-scene investigation found that the actor was seen walking into
the baby section and then running out with a brown laundry bag full of products worth
approximately $219. Sgt. Adam Colon observed a man who fit the description of the actor on the
900 block of Madison Street and stopped him. The individual, later identified as 39-year-old Jean
Miranda of West New York, dropped something that had been reported stolen from the store. He
was arrested for shoplifting and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He was found to
have a white colored wax fold containing a powdery substance believed to be CDS heroin. He
was additionally charged with possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia. It was
discovered Miranda had a warrant out of the Hudson County Sheriff's office. After being
processed, he was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
17. On April 9, 2025, at approximately 12:55 a.m., Police Officers Jaydan Gonzalez and
Brandon Cappelluti were conducting a sweep of a Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA) building
on the 500 block of Marshal Drive, when they saw a man they could identify as 49-year-old
Jeffrey Wheeler of Hoboken laying on his back in a stairwell. It was discovered he did not live in
the building, and he was arrested for defiant trespassing. Wheeler was transported to Hoboken
Police Headquarters for processing and released with a summons.
18. On April 9, 2025, at approximately 1 p.m., Police Officers Marco Grossman and Jennifer
Lee responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a man being held by store security
after attempting to shoplift. An on-scene investigation revealed the actor, later identified as 55-
year-old Ivica Jeljenic of Jersey City, took three steaks with a total value of approximately $98
before being stopped by security. Jeljenic was arrested for shoplifting and transported to
Hoboken Police Headquarters. After being processed, he was released on a summons.
