Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Patrick Murray announce that on April 22, 2025, at approximately 5:55 p.m., members of
the Paterson Police Department responded to East Side Park in Paterson, New Jersey on reports
of a shooting. A short time later, two individuals, a 21-year-old female and a 24-year-old male,
arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center with gunshot wounds. The female victim
was pronounced deceased.
This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes
available.
