Bayonne Man Charged in Connection with Jersey City Hit-and-Run

On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, members of the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit arrested a Bayonne man for his role in a hit-and-run that occurred in Jersey City on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

Adrian Perez, 23, is charged with Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Collision Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1.1, a crime of the third degree and Endangering an Injured Victim in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1.2a, a crime of the third degree. He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and released pending his first court appearance. Perez was charged on a direct indictment by a Hudson County Grand Jury.

Shortly after 2:33 p.m. on October 26, 2023, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Barbara Place and Grand Street. Responding officers located a 37-year-old female victim with multiple serious injuries. The striking vehicle, later identified as a Chevrolet Suburban being operated by Perez, did not remain at the scene.

The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6)
