Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Ringwood Chief of Police Peter McGinty
announce that on April 27, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a motor vehicle collision occurred
in the area of Skyline Drive and Greenwood Lake Drive in Ringwood, New Jersey involving a
motorcycle and a Jeep Cherokee SUV. The operator of the motorcycle, Michael Mendonca-Lopez, a 23-year-old male from Cranford, New Jersey, was pronounced deceased. The occupants of the Jeep Cherokee did not sustain serious injury.
This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes
available.
