
1. On April 21st, 2025, at approximately 4:52AM, members of the Guttenberg Police
Department’s Patrol Division responded to a residence on Jackson Street after
receiving a report of a fight. During the on-scene investigation, Ms. Martillo was
arrested and then charged with throwing bodily fluid at law enforcement causing
bodily injury [2C:12-13], two (2) counts of throwing bodily fluid at law enforcement
[2C:12-13], aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer causing bodily injury
[2C:12-1B(5)(A)], two (2) counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer
[2C:12-1B(5)(A)], aggravated assault on EMS personnel causing bodily injury [2C:12-
1B(5)(C)], resisting arrest [2C:29-2A(3)(A)], and disorderly conduct [2C:33-2A(1)]. Ms.
Martillo was then transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation, then later
transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for her arrest processing. Upon the
completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Martillo was issued her complaint warrant
and lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Center.
2. On April 24th, 2025, our agency was contacted by the North Bergen Police
Department, informing us that they had a male in their custody, with an active
warrant issued by the Guttenberg Municipal Court. Shortly after, officers of the
North Bergen Police Department transported 25-year-old Evan W. Perez of West New
York, NJ, to our police headquarters, where he was placed under arrest. Upon the
completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Perez was released on his own recognizance,
pending his next court appearance with the Guttenberg Municipal Court.
3. On April 25th, 2025, at approximately 12:26AM, the West New York Police
Department notified our agency that their officers were in the area of 64th Street and
Bergenline Avenue, with a male who reported that he was beaten and robbed of his
scooter at 68th Street and Bergenline Avenue. Members of the Guttenberg Police
Department’s Patrol Division immediately responded and received a description of the
suspect and the scooter taken from the victim. While speaking with the victim,
officers observed multiple lacerations on the victim’s body and face. The victim was
also missing a part of his tooth as the result of the incident. As West New York’s
Emergency Medical Services were beginning to evaluate the victim, detectives and
officers of the West New York Police Department informed us that they located a
male, matching the suspect’s description, who had a scooter in his possession and
blood on his clothing. During the remainder of the investigation, the victim was able
to positively identify the suspect as the individual who committed the robbery, which
was then confirmed via our CCTV surveillance cameras from the intersection of 68th
Street and Bergenline Avenue. As the result of this joint investigation with the West
New York Police Department, our officers arrested 36-year-old Ariel Sandoval-Paulino of North Bergen, NJ, for robbery [2C:15-1A(1)] and disorderly conduct [2C:33-2A(1)]. Mr. Sandoval-Paulino was then transported to the Guttenberg Police
Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing,
Mr. Sandoval-Paulino was issued his complaint warrant and then lodged in the
Hudson County Correctional Center.
4. On April 26th, 2025, members of the Guttenberg Police Department responded to a
blocked driveway on 70th Street. During their on-scene investigation, officers arrested
45-year-old Yahayra M. Morales of Jersey City, NJ, for driving while intoxicated
[39:4-50]. Ms. Morales was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for
her arrest processing. Upon the completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Morales was
issued numerous summonses for traffic violations and then released into the care of
staff from the Palisades Medical Center.
5. On April 26th, 2025, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division
responded to a call for a male sleeping behind the wheel in a vehicle. Officers located
the vehicle, which was still in drive, with the driver asleep behind the wheel. During
their on-scene investigation, officers arrested 45-year-old Angel M. Medranda-Parrales of Newark, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. MedrandaParrales was also charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license
[2C:40-26B], possession of prescription legend drugs [2C:35-10.5A(3)], and failure to
make lawful disposition [2C:35-10C] after officers discovered that his driver’s license
was suspended and located twenty-one (21) white, round pills, believed to be
oxycodone, which were not prescribed to him in his possession. Mr. Medranda-Parrales was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest
processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, he was issued his complaint
summons, numerous summonses for traffic violations, and then released into the care
of a responsible adult.
The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed
innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
