On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested a North Bergen man following a child sexual abuse material investigation.
Andrew Bastida, 19, is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child/Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4b(5)(b)(ii), a crime of the second degree. He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and released pending his first court appearance, which is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
In April 2024, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cyber tip that child sexual abuse material was being stored on an online server. During the course of the investigation, it was determined Bastida controlled the account and over 100 videos of child sexual abuse material were seized.
The above charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6).
