Morris County Extends Anti-Bias/Bullying Initiative
Superintendent/Principal Kenneth Frattini, SAP DeNegri, Assistant Principal Danielle Morgenroth, and Sgt. LaGuerre at Rockaway Valley School

Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Samantha DeNegri and Sergeant Patrick LaGuerre brought their educational Anti-Bias/Bullying program to additional schools around northern New Jersey – Kinnelon High School and Pearl R. Miller Middle School on April 4, Rockaway Valley in Boonton Township on April 8, and Assumption School in Morristown on May 1.

The goal of the program is to teach students about the consequences of failing to exercise good judgement when it comes to interacting with peers and posting online, as how they conduct themselves today could potentially impact their future. In addition, the presenters explain that Morris County takes a zero-tolerance approach to threats of school violence, and there are consequences and corrective actions that must be taken, even in cases when students claim their comments were intended as a joke.

The assemblies also allow law enforcement to connect directly with students.

The program has been conducted at public and private schools throughout Morris County and beyond, with over a dozen such presentations being held in Morris, Sussex, Union, and Warren counties over the last year.
