
1. On April 24, 2025, at approximately 1:25 a.m., Police Officers Zackary Guido and Brandon
Cappelluti responded to the 200 block of Harrison Street, after Sgt. Michael Losurdo observed
two men on Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA) property, and one was in possession of an open
alcoholic beverage container. The man in possession of the container, later identified as 51-year-old Darnell Squire of the Bronx, became verbally resistive and refused to put down the glass
beverage when asked by the officers. He would not provide his identification. Neither man could
provide a reason why they were on HHA property and both were arrested for defiant trespassing.
The other man was identified as 43-year-old Lavada Evans of Hoboken. During the arrest, Squire
attempted to resist by tensing his arms and turning away. Both Evans and Squire were
transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. It was discovered Squire had an outstanding
warrant out of South Toms River Municipal Court. Squire was charged with defiant trespassing
and resisting arrest. Evans was charged with defiant trespassing. Both were released with a
summons after being processed.
2. On April 24, 2025, at approximately 6 p.m., Police Officers Ahmed Makshat and Stephen
Chowanec responded to Pier A Park, 100 Sinatra Dr., to transport 38-year-old David Steed of
Hoboken, to Hoboken Police Headquarters, after Sgt. Daniel Grossi and Police Officer John
Lawton saw Steed during a detail check of the park, knew he had an open warrant, and arrested
him. It was confirmed Steed had a warrant for a package theft that occurred on the 500 block of
Marshall Drive on April 19, 2025. A follow-up investigation led by Police Officer Anthony
Ingraffia identified Steed as the actor. He also had a warrant for failure to pay a prescribed fare.
He was processed and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
3. On April 24, 2025, at approximately 6 p.m., Police Officers Mario Rodriguez and Vincent
Guastini responded to the area of Sixth and Garden Streets, on reports of a man laying on a
bench in front of a church. They found the man, later identified as 33-year-old Orlando
Rodriguez of Manhattan, and told him that he can’t lay down. Rodriguez became agitated and
refused to sit up. Sgt. Daniel Grossi and Police Officer John Lawton arrived on the scene to
assist. It was discovered Rodriguez had a failure to appear warrant out of Hoboken for the
original charges of hindering apprehension and trespassing. He was arrested and transported to
Hoboken Police Headquarters where it was discovered he also had a warrant out of Bloomfield
Township. He was issued a summons for lying in a prone position on a bench and released with
new court dates for both warrants.
4. On April 24, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Sgt., John Quinones, Sgt. Daniel Grossi, and
Officer John Lawson responded to ShopRite on reports of a shoplifting with the actor in custody
of store security. An on-scene investigation revealed that the actor, later identified as 51-year-old
Ritaben Patel of Jersey City, placed multiple items into a bag but only paid for a portion of them
at the self-checkout area before trying to leave. Store employees stopped her before she left. It
was discovered she had $175.53 worth of merchandise she didn’t pay for. Patel was placed under
arrest and told she was banned from the store. She was charged with shoplifting, transported to
Hoboken Police Headquarters, processed, and released with a summons and a court date.
5. On April 25, 2025, at approximately 1 a.m., Police Officer Nicholas Losurdo and Jairo De La
Cruz were on routine patrol when they observed a vehicle on Washington Street at 14th Street,
with an expired temporary license plate. They pulled the car over and approached the driver,
later identified as 27-year-old Tyrell Abdellatif of Jersey City. It was discovered he had a
warrant out of Hoboken for harassment and a warrant for assault out of Jersey City. Sgt. Daniel
Grossi and Police Officers Brandon Capalutti and Arturo Gonzalez arrived on the scene to assist.
Tyrell was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and issued a summons for driving an
unregistered vehicle, failure to exhibit a driver's license, and driving an uninsured motor vehicle.
Jersey City Police ultimately took Abdellatif into custody on the assault warrant.
6. On April 25, 2025, at approximately 2:40 p.m., Police Officer Jennifer Lee was approached
by an employee of 2nd Street, 200 Washington St., who said a shoplifting had just occurred. Sgt.
Adam Colon and Police Officers Jonathan Figueroa and Anthony Olivera arrived to assist. An
on-scene investigation revealed a man, later identified as 41-year-old Angelo Santiago of
Hoboken, took a shirt and left the store without paying. An employee followed him out and
confronted him about the theft. Santiago took a fighting stance, leading the employee to believe
he was going to be assaulted. Santiago then ran south on Bloomfield Street. A short time later,
Sgt. Michael Losurdo and Police Officer Harry Montalvo stopped Santiago on the 400 block of
Newark Street. He was wearing the shirt that had been reported stolen from the store. While
being arrested, Santiago pulled his hands back, tensed up and took a fighting stance, in an
attempt to resist. A search incident to arrest located a glass cylindrical pipe burnt on both ends
and a wooden push rod. Police Officers Teddy Santiago and Marco Grossmann arrived on the
scene. Santiago was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with robbery,
possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest. After being processed on the charges, he
was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
7. On April 25, 2025, at approximately 7:05 p.m., Sgt. Daniel Grossi and Sgt. Roary Miller were
on patrol on Third Street when they observed a man they could identify as 61-year-old Carmine
Potesta of Jersey City, who they believe had an active warrant for his arrest. Warrants on charges
of shoplifting, robbery, and making terroristic threats during two separate incidents on April 16,
2025, were confirmed and Potesta was arrested. A search incident to arrest located a cylindrical
glass pipe burnt on the ends and steel wool inside. He was transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters and refused to be fingerprinted. He was processed on warrants and further charged
with possession of drug paraphernalia and refusal of fingerprinting. He was ultimately
transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
8. On April 26, 2025, at approximately 3 a.m., Police Officers Zackary Guido and Ricky
Truppner responded to 30 Burgers, 70 Hudson St., on reports of a dispute. Upon arrival, they
found a man suffering from a slash wound to his face. Sgt. Dennis Figueroa, Sgt. Roary Miller,
and Police Officers Valentino Salgado, Nicklas Valerius, Ronald Kibitlewski, Frank Losurdo,
Nicholas Losurdo, Brian Kim, and Jairo De La Cruz arrived on the scene to assist. An on-scene
investigation revealed a victim was assaulted with a knife. 43-year-old Curtis Lanier of Jersey
City was identified as the actor. He was placed under arrest and transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters. The victim was taken to an area hospital. Detectives Connor Milne and Anthony
Azzoline responded to investigate further. Lanier was charged with aggravated assault,
endangering an injured victim, possession of weapons for unlawful purposes, certain persons not
to have weapons/ammunition, and unlawful possession of weapons. After being processed on all
charges, he was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
9. On April 26, 2025, at approximately 1:50 p.m., Sgt. Adam Colon and Police Officer Marco
Grossman responded to the Hoboken University Medical Center, 308 Willow Ave., on reports of
possible CDS found on a patient, later identified as 42-year-old Mayenli Garcia of Union City.
Hospital staff gave officers a small plastic bag containing a white powdery substance suspected
to be CDS cocaine, which was located in Garcia’s property. She was arrested and transported to
Hoboken Police Headquarters where it was discovered she had an open warrant out of Jersey
City. Garcia was charged with possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia,
processed, and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
10. On April 27, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Police Officers Zackary Guido was in the
area of Newark Street and Willow Avenue, when he saw a car fail to stop at a stop sign. He
pulled the vehicle over and approached the driver, later identified as 41-year-old Sven Schneider
of Jersey City. The officer observed Schneider to have glassy eyes and slow and uncoordinated
movements, and he detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath.
Police Officers David Chicara and Anish Bhisey arrived on the scene to assist. A field sobriety
test was performed, after which it was determined Schneider was impaired and he was placed
under arrest for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters,
and he refused to provide breath samples. He was given summonses for driving while
intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to stop or yield, and refusal to submit breath test. As per
John’s Law, he was released into the custody of a responsible party.
11. On April 27, 2025, at approximately 2:35 a.m., Sgt. Adam Colon was on patrol in the area of
River Street and Hudson Place when he saw a group of men fighting outside of Texas Arizona,
76 Hudson St. He notified dispatch and approached the group to try and break up the fight. As he
was doing so, he observed a man, later identified as 22-year-old Leobardo Acevedo of Paterson,
punch another individual multiple times. Sgt. Colon took Acevedo into custody. Police Officers
Nicholas Losurdo, Alyssa Rivera, Jaydan Gonzalez, and Anish Bhisey arrived on the scene to
assist. Acevedo was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with disorderly
conduct. After being processed, he was released from custody.
12. On April 27, 2025, at approximately 3:45 a.m., Police Officer Valentino Salgado was outside
of Hoboken Police Headquarters, 106 Hudson St., and observed a car turn onto Hudson Street,
from Second Street and swerve, almost hitting multiple parked cars. The vehicle then sped up
and made a left hand turn onto First Street. The vehicle was located near the intersection of
Newark and Hudson Streets and pulled over. When asked for his driver’s license, registration,
and insurance, the driver, identified as 31-year-old Kendall Kirkland of East Orange, was slow to
respond. Police Officers Anish Bhisey and Nicklas Valerius arrived on the scene to assist. While
being questioned, Kirkland appeared to be confused, and officers smelled the odor of an
alcoholic beverage emanating from Kirkland’s breath. Police Officer Zachary Guido arrived to
perform a standardized field sobriety test, after which Kirkland was arrested for driving while
intoxicated. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. Kirkland refused to provide
breath samples. He was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, unsafe
lane change, and refusal to provide breath samples. As per John’s Law, he was released into the
custody of a responsible party.
13. On April 27, 2025, at approximately 8:10 p.m., Police Officers John Rodriguez and Michael
Chen were on patrol on the 500 block of Marshall Drive, when they heard two people screaming
from inside a residential building. They went inside and found the voices coming from an
apartment on the second floor, but the residents wouldn’t open the door. Sgt. Daniel Grossi, Sgt.
Jason Falco, and Police Officer Shawn Sodora were also on the scene. After multiple attempts to
get the man and woman inside to open the door, officers had a building manager unlock it. They
identified a man inside as 36-year-old Darren Goodman-McDougald of Jersey City, who was
very uncooperative with officers attempting to investigate. It was discovered he had an active
warrant out of Hudson County for his arrest. He gave the officers a false name at first. When
officers arrested him, Goodman-McDougald attempted to resist multiple times by shoving one
officer and kicking another. Additional units arrived to assist. Goodman-McDougald was
detained and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. During transport, he exhibited
threatening behavior towards officers, indicating he wanted to fight them. He was charged with
aggravated assault, terroristic threats, hindering apprehension, and resisting arrest. He was
processed and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
14. On April 28, 2025, at approximately 10:45 a.m., Police Officers Christopher Barral and
Keven De La Cruz responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifting. The
actor, who officers knew as 57-year-old James Rice of Hoboken, was in custody of store security
who had seen Rice placing several items, worth approximately $134, into a bag and attempting
to leave without paying. Rice was arrested for shoplifting and transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters for processing. He was released with a copy of his summons.
15. On April 28, 2025, at approximately 12 p.m., Police Officer Arturo Gonzalez was on the 100
block of Jefferson Street when he observed a man, later identified as 34-year-old Amadou Diallo
of the Bronx, operating an unregistered class 3 e-bike, with the “class 3” sticker covered. He was
riding the wrong way on a one-way street. When he stopped to make a delivery, the officer
approached him and asked for identification to issue a summons, but Diallo ignored him. Diallo
continued to ignore multiple requests for his identification, and once he made his delivery, he ran
from the scene. Officer Gonzalez followed him and eventually caught up. During the arrest,
Diallo hit the officer in the knee. Sgt. Anthony Russo, Sgt. Steven Kranz, and Police Officers
Tyrone Huggins and Christopher Hatfield arrived on the scene to assist. Diallo was transported
to Hoboken Police Headquarters. Officer Keven De La Cruz located the bicycle and confirmed it
was an unregistered class 3 e-bike. It was also discovered Diallo didn’t have the proper
insurance, registration, or driver’s license. The vehicle was seized. Diallo was issued a summons
for obstructing the administration of law, riding the wrong way on a one way street, unlicensed
driver, unregistered vehicle, no liability insurance, failure to exhibit documents/insurance, failure
to have an e-bike delivery license, and failure to have on a high visibility vest for e-bike delivery
operators. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, processed, and released with a
summons. The owner of the class 3 bicycle was issued a summons for allowing an unlicensed
driver to operate a vehicle.
16. On April 28, 2025, at approximately 1:55 p.m., Captain David Olivera observed a man he
could identify as 43-year-old Marcus Morales of Jersey City on the 900 block of Madison Street,
and believed he had an outstanding warrant. Police Officer Christopher Barral arrived on the
scene and located Morales and stopped him. A warrant out of Hoboken for assault, and one out
of Union City, were confirmed, and Morales was placed under arrest. During a search incident to
arrest, he was found to be in possession of a container containing suspected CDS crack cocaine,
thin metal rods, and a clear glass cylindrical pipe with a burnt edge. Police Officer Tyrone
Huggins arrived on the scene and Morales was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He
was charged with possession of CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, and bail jumping,
processed, and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
17. On April 29, 2025, at approximately 7:50 p.m., Sgt. Harold Milne observed an individual he
knew had an active warrant in a parking lot on the 300 block of Harrison Street. Police Officer
Donovan Ortiz and Stephen Chowanec were conducting a building sweep nearby and responded.
They located the individual, identified as 34-year-old Jeremy Braxton of Newark. It was
discovered he had an active warrant out of Hoboken for possession of CDS, and one out of
Newark for trespassing. Braxton was arrested and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters
for processing. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
18. On April 30, 2025, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Police Officers Nasir Willey and Alyssa
Rivera were on the 300 block of Jackson Street, when they observed a man, they could identify
as 52-year-old Victor Smith of Hoboken, and knew he had an outstanding warrant. They stopped
him and the warrants, one out of Hoboken for disorderly conduct, and one out of Weehawken,
were confirmed. A search incident to arrest located multiple push rods and a bag with copper
mesh. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and additionally charged with
possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County
Correctional Facility.
19. On April 30, 2025, at approximately 2 p.m., Police Officers Nasir Willey and Daniel Barron
responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifting, with the actor in custody of
store security. An on-scene investigation revealed the man, later identified as 64-year-old
Concetto Micalizzi of Hoboken, was seen at the self-checkout line, only paying for some of the
items in his cart and then trying to leave without paying for $126.35 worth of merchandise.
Micalizzi was arrested for shoplifting and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. After
being processed, he was released with a summons.
20. On April 30, 2025, at approximately 7 p.m., Police Officers Donovan Ortiz, Nasir Willey,
and Marc Lombardi responded to the Hoboken Public Library, 500 Park Ave., on reports of a
patron acting disorderly. The individual, later identified as 62-year-old Tina Pham of North
Bergen, was observed pacing back and forth and screaming about needing documents. She was
asked to leave the building multiple times. When she attempted to move one of the officers from
blocking her from walking toward the printing machine, she was placed under arrest, which she
resisted by tensing her body. She was ultimately escorted out of the library and transported to
Hoboken Police Headquarters. She was charged with criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct,
obstructing the administration of the law, and resisting arrest. After processing she was released
with a summons.
