On May 3, 2025, Millburn Police Officer Griffin stopped a Hyundai Sonata at the Short Hills Mall. The
driver of the vehicle had an active arrest warrant for eluding out of Bridgewater NJ. The investigation led
to the arrest of Ciara Pugsley, age 26, of Newark NJ. Search incident to arrest yielded CDS and stolen
property. She was charged with possession of CDS, possession of paraphernalia, and receiving stolen
property, and turned over to Bridgewater PD.
On May 4, 2025, Millburn Police Sergeant DeRosa conducted a pedestrian stop on Morris Turnpike near
Wendy’s, involving an individual with an active arrest warrant out of Springfield, NJ. During a search
incident to arrest, controlled dangerous substances (CDS) and drug paraphernalia were recovered. The
individual was subsequently charged with possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On May 7, 2025, Millburn Police Officer Seebohm responded to a two-car crash on JFK parkway north.
The investigation led to the arrest of Joelle Tutela, age 52, of West Orange for suspicion of driving while
intoxicated. She was charged with DWI and other motor vehicle violations.
On May 8, 2025, Millburn Officer Hunt-Miles responded to Macys at the Mall at Short Hills for a report
of shoplifter in custody. Macys associates reported that a male, later identified as Adrian Angus, age 42,
of Vaux Hall, had concealed $259.00 of merchandise and left the store without paying. Angus was placed
under arrest and charged with shoplifting, defiant trespassing and possession of CDS.
On May 12, 2025, Millburn Police Officer Sweeney responded to a silver Buick sedan on rt 124 parked in
a lane of traffic with an unresponsive male in the driver seat. The investigation led to the arrest of
Jaquan Jackson, age 36, of Wilkes Barre PA for suspected DWI. He was charged with DWI, and having an
open container in a vehicle. He was later released to an acquaintance.
On May 13, 2025, after a comprehensive investigation conducted by Millburn Police
Department Detectives Wichelns and Herrera, an arrest has been made in connection with a
series of motor vehicle burglaries that occurred earlier this year. On January 27 and February
18, 2025, multiple vehicle burglaries were reported in the areas of Dryden Terrace, Spenser Dr,
Pine St, and Cypress St in Millburn. The detectives were able to identify the suspect responsible
for these incidents. Today, Jhalil Snowden-Rush, age 34, of Newark, NJ, was taken into custody
without incident in Newark. In addition to resolving the Millburn cases, the investigation led by
Detectives Wichelns and Herrera has also helped solve multiple related burglary cases in
surrounding jurisdictions, providing critical leads to neighboring law enforcement agencies.
On May 14, 2025, during the early morning hours the Millburn Police Department responded to an
Undercliff Rd residence on a report of a burglary that just occurred. The actors forced entry into the
residence through a window and took the homeowner’s keys to their vehicle. The actors then stole a
vehicle from the driveway. This incident remains under investigation by the MPD Detective Bureau.
These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or
are found guilty in a court of law.
