Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In- Charge Patrick Murray announce that at approximately 3:35 a.m. on May 17, 2025, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of 19th Avenue and East 42nd Street on a report of a shooting. Police located a 55-year-old male victim from Clifton, New Jersey, with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey where the victim was pronounced deceased.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
