The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Christopher Martinez, (43), of the Bronx, New York stemming from an incident that occurred on June 1, 2025. On that date at approximately 10:20 am, officers were dispatched to the Ramada by Wyndham Hotel, located at 38 Two Bridges Road, for a report of a fight in progress.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated he was just involved in a physical altercation outside of the hotel with another male. The suspect had fled back inside when police were called to the scene. The victim was not injured and provided a description for officers who began searching inside.
A short time later Officers Sean McCormack and Omar Qasem located a male inside the hotel matching the exact description provided by the caller. The male, later identified as Martinez, allegedly refused the officers commands to stop and speak with them and began walking away. Officer McCormack advised other officers that he believed Martinez made movements that led him to believe he was reaching for a possible weapon as he continued to disobey the officer’s orders and flee.
Martinez exited the hotel and began walking through an adjacent parking lot. Officer Louis Bisciotti located him,and Martinez allegedly still refused to obey the officer’s commands and began running. He was subsequently placed under arrest after a short foot pursuit.
It is alleged that a search of Martinez after arrest was conducted and drugs and drug paraphernalia were found on his person. In addition, officers retraced Martinez’ steps from the hotel to the adjacent parking lot. A sheathed knife was located just outside of the hotel, which Martinez allegedly admitted to discarding as he ran from the hotel.
Martinez was transported to police headquarters for processing. During the processing, it was determined that he was wanted out of Bergen County on a parole violation. He was subsequently charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Martinez was transported to the Bergen County Jail on his other charges. He is scheduled to appear at the Essex County Superior Court on June 16, 2025.
