1. On May 8, 2025, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Police Officers Carmen Benitez and Brandon
Cappelluti responded to the 200 block of Willow Street at the request of the Hoboken Volunteer
Ambulance Corps (HVAC), to assist with a woman, later identified 41-year-old Lenette Green of
Jersey City. As the call for service went on Green acted disorderly and began to misuse the 9-1-1
system by calling without having an emergency. Sgt. Daniel Grossi arrived on the scene to assist.
When Green made a third 9-1-1 call without having an emergency, she was placed under arrest
and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where she was charged with false public alarm
and disorderly conduct. It was discovered she had a warrant out of Newark for disorderly
conduct. After being processed, Green was transported to the Hudson County Correctional
Facility.
2. On May 8, 2025, at approximately 3:40 p.m., Police Officers Mario Rodriguez and Ahmed
Makshat responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison Street, on reports of a shoplifting where the actor
was in custody of store security. An on-scene investigation revealed an individual, later
identified as 40-year-old Aristide Nzoudja of Newark, paid for some of the items in his cart, but
tried to leave with eight items, totaling $71.29, that he did not pay for. Nzoudja was transported
to Hoboken Police Headquarters, and it was discovered he had a warrant out of Newark. Aristide
was processed and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
3. On May 8, 2025, at approximately 7:15 p.m., Police Officer Michael Chen was approached by
a man, later identified as 84-year-old Bernaldo Quiros of Hoboken, at the intersection of Fifth
and Monroe Streets. He was observed to be slurring his speech. Quiros began dancing in the
middle of the street and the officer instructed him to stand on the sidewalk for his safety, but he
became erratic and walked away. Quiros took a fighting stance and continued yelling in an
incoherent manner. He started to swing his arms, took a glass bottle out of his pocket, and threw
it on the ground near the officer. Quiros was arrested for disorderly conduct. Sgt. Harold Milne
and Police Officer Lombardi arrived on the scene to assist. Quiros was transported to a local
hospital, where he was released with a summons.
4. On May 9, 2025, at approximately 3:20 p.m., Police Officers Bianca Arroyo and Elias Colon
were patrolling on Fifth Street heading toward Jackson Street, when they observed a man
holding a canned margarita, walking off balance. When they pulled over to check on the well-
being of the man, later identified as 41-year-old Sedrick Aiken of Bayonne, he poured the liquor
out of the can and onto the hood of their patrol car. Police Officers Anthony Olivera, Arturo
Gonzalez, Nasir Wiley, and Jonathon Figueroa responded to the scene to assist. Aiken was
charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, interference with transport, and having an
open alcoholic beverage container. He was transported to a local hospital and released with a
summons.
5. On May 9, 2025, at approximately 7 p.m., Police Officers Vincent Guastini and Stephen
Chowanec were driving on Jackson Street when they noticed an individual on the 300 block who
they could identify as 55-year-old Antonio Melendez of Hoboken and knew he had a warrant.
When they called out to him, Melendez attempted to run away, but officers caught up to him. As
they attempted to arrest Melendez, his arms became stiff, and he ignored commands. He was
arrested and a search incident to arrest located empty needles, copper steel wool, metal rods, and
a wax fold with powdery substance believed to be CDS. Melendez was transported to Hoboken
Police Headquarters where the warrant for loitering was confirmed. He was additionally charged
with possession of CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest. Melendez was
ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
6. On May 11, 2025, at approximately 1:25 a.m., Police Officers Jaydan Gonzalez and Brandon
Cappelluti responded to Dear Maud, 205 First St., on reports of bouncers injuring a patron and
then leaving the scene. An on-scene investigation revealed the victim was entering the
establishment when he was pushed into a bouncer at the front door. The bouncers then shoved
the victim onto the floor, causing a shoulder injury. He was transported to a local hospital for
treatment. The two bouncers involved, identified as 24-year-old Matthew Garica of Passaic and
23-year-old Luciano Recalde of Kearny, came back to the scene. They were placed under arrest
for aggravated assault. They were transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, processed, and
released with summonses and a court date.
7.On May 12, 2025, at approximately 2:50 a.m., Police Officers Zackary Guido and Trevor
Thomas responded to the area of 14th Street and Sinatra Drive on reports of a group of
individuals drinking, throwing bottles, and being loud before getting in a vehicle and driving
away. Officers observed a vehicle that matched the description of the car involved passing their
vehicle and pulling into a parking lot on the 1400 block of Park Avenue. Officers stopped the
vehicle and identified the driver as 23-year-old Destiney Mathis of Newark. They observed her
to have glassy eyes and smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the
vehicle and her breath. A field sobriety test was performed, after which Mathis was arrested for
driving while intoxicated. She was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where she
refused to provide breath samples for testing. A search of her car located an open bottle of
tequila. Mathis was issued a summons for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, refusal to
submit to breathe testing, and having an open/unsealed container of alcohol. As per John’s Law,
she was released into the custody of a responsible party.
8. On May 12, 2025, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Police Officer Anthony Rutkowski responded
to the 200 block of Bloomfield Street on reports of a package theft. An on-scene investigation
revealed a package containing approximately $484.40 of clothing had been taken the day before,
and Officer Rutkowski was able to identify the actor as 62-year-old John Montalvo of Hoboken.
It was discovered Montalvo had two outstanding warrants for failure to appear; one out of
Hoboken and the other out of Hudson County. He was additionally charged with theft of a
package from a residence. The next day, on May 13, 2025, at approximately 8:20 a.m., Sgt.
James Barbro saw Montalvo in the area of First and Grand Streets. Police Officers Frank
Lombardo and Teddy Santiago responded to the area, located Montalvo, and placed him under
arrest. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and processed. He was later
transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
9. On May 13, 2024, at approximately 1:35 a.m., Police Officer Anish Bhisey and Zackary
Guido were conducting a check of a Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA) building on the 600
block of Sixth Street, when they observed a man, later identified as 44-year-old William Matos
of Union City, who did not live in the building. Sgt. Daniel Grossi and Police Officers David
Chicara and Ronald Kibitlewski arrived on the scene to assist. It was discovered Matos had a
warrant for failure to appear out of Jersey City. A search incident to arrest found a crack pipe,
two wooden push rods, and copper wiring. Matos was charged with criminal trespassing and
possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for
processing and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
10. On May 13, 2025, at approximately 9:20 a.m., Police Officer Daniel Barron responded to
Hoboken Police Headquarters to process the arrest of 63-year-old Rodolfo Hung of Union City,
who was brought to Hoboken by West New York Police. Hung had a failure to appear in court
warrant out of Hoboken for theft. After processing, he was released from custody with a
summons.
11. On May 13, 2025, at approximately, Police Officers Arturo Gonzalez, Marco Grossman, and
Anthony Hochstadter responded to the 600 block of Madison Streets on reports of an individual
in the process of taking a package. Officers observed a woman who fit the description of the
actor, who they could identify as 51-year-old Diana Luciano of Hoboken, near the intersection of
Sixth and Grand Streets, and observed her walk into Acme, 614 Clinton St. When she came out,
she had a total of $36.23 worth of items, that she did not walk in with. It was determined she had
shoplifted those items, and she was arrested. She was transported to an area hospital, where a
search incident to arrest located a glass cylinder with a steel wool on one end, commonly used to
smoke crack cocaine. Luciano was charged with shoplifting. Further investigation revealed
Luciano was also responsible for a package theft reported on May 12, 2025, and she was
additionally charged with theft of packages and burglary. She was ultimately transported to
Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing and then taken to the Hudson County Correctional
Facility.
12. On May 13, 2025, at approximately 12:10 p.m., Sgt. James Barbro and Police Officers
Daniel Barron and Rose Kanan responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a
shoplifting where the actor was detained by store security. An on-scene investigation revealed
the actor, later identified as 38-year-old David Hutchings of Jersey City, placed items worth a
total of $90.43, into a bag and tried to leave without paying before being stopped by security.
Hutchings was arrested for shoplifting and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where it
was discovered he had a failure to appear warrant for shoplifting in Hoboken. Once processed,
he was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
13. On May 14, 2025, at approximately 9:35 p.m., Police Officer Dylan Archilla was on patrol
on the 900 block of Washington Street, when he saw a motorcycle pass another vehicle by
entering the opposite lane of traffic. The officer conducted a traffic stop, and it was determined
the driver, later identified as 25-year-old Ronneld Thomasramos of Jersey City, did not have a
motorcycle license. It was discovered that Thomas had a failure to appear warrant for driving
without a license in Hoboken. He was placed under arrest and transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters. He was released on bail and given a new court date.
