6/1/2025 2:58 PM, (Shoplifting)
Loss prevention from a Passaic Street supermarket reported a theft of pop up tents. The tents, valued at $479.78, were offered for sale outside of the main entrance. Officers reviewed surveillance footage and developed suspects. One of the suspects, a 37-year-old male from Teaneck, agreed to speak with investigators. He arrived at headquarters with a used “crack pipe” in his pocket. The male was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia. A second suspect, a 49-year-old male from Paterson was also charged with shoplifting.

6/2/2025 7:38 AM, (Property Damage)
Police located a severely damaged guard rail in front of Midland School. A review of area surveillance footage revealed a vehicle struck the guard rail at 4:53 AM and fled the scene northbound on Rochelle Avenue. The vehicle registration was not visible on camera footage. Contractors were summoned to repair the damage.

6/2/2025 11:50 AM (Shoplifting / Narcotics Law Violation)
Loss prevention from a Passaic Street supermarket reported a female shoplifter in custody. The suspect shoplifted $349.29 worth of groceries. A computer check revealed a $750 warrant from Paterson, and a search incident to arrest uncovered (44) wax paper heroin folds. The arrestee, a 27-year-old female from North Bergen, was charged with shoplifting and possession of C.D.S...

6/2/2025 9:37 PM, (Breach of Peace)
A resident of Cedar Drive reported a dispute with a tenant. Responding police met with two parties, one of which reported to be renting “half of a garage”. Police settled the dispute and reported a potential zoning violation to the Code Enforcement Officer.

6/4/2025 10:49 AM, (Fraud)
A resident of Rochelle Avenue reported a fraudulent bank transaction in the amount of $80,000. The transaction resulted from the passing of a fraudulent check in Indiana. Bank representatives reversed the transaction and detectives are working to identify a suspect.

6/5/2025 12:15 AM, (Dispersal)
A patrol officer observed a large group gathering in a Rochelle Avenue parking lot. Upon closer inspection a 25-year-old male from West Orange was filming a music video. The male was advised to vacate private property and also educated on the Township Noise Ordinance.

6/5/2025 2:23 PM, (Theft)
A business owner from Woodland Avenue reported wheels and tires stolen from a trailer. The items were reported to belong to a Porsche GT4 and carried a value of $4000. Detectives reviewed surveillance video and located a black sedan with two actors. Identification attempts are continuing.

6/5/2025 4:33 PM, (Domestic Violence - Arrest)
A dispute between mother and daughter was reported on Oldis Street. Responding officers found property damage inside the home and one of the residents with a complaint of pain. Police arrested a female party, charged her with simple assault and released her on a summons. No protection orders were sought.

6/6/2025 11:24 AM, (Arrest - Adult)
A Patrol Sergeant conducted a motor vehicle stop of an illegal motorized scooter. The driver was unable to provide a license, registration, or insurance card. A computer check revealed several open warrants. The mini bike style scooter was impounded and the arrestee, a 32-year-old male from Paterson, was turned over to Hackensack Police.

6/7/2025 10:42 PM, (Breach of Peace)
Paramus Police reported a resident of West Oldis Street stated a neighbor drove on his front lawn. Responding officers learned that the event occurred in the past and is part of an ongoing neighbor dispute about k-turns in driveways. No property damage was located and police spoke with both sides of the dispute.

6/8/2025 4:16 AM, (Aided)
A caller from a Passaic Street hotel reported a juvenile locked inside a 2nd floor bathroom. Responding units learned it was a dispute between a 17-year-old and her grandmother. Officers gained access to the bathroom and found the juvenile to be in good health. Officers updated DCP&P and referred the family to a family crisis hotline.

6/8/2025 7:16 AM, (Animal Complaint)
Multiple callers reported a black bear in the area of Rochelle Avenue. A public alert RAVE message was broadcast and residents were advised not to approach or disturb wildlife.

6/8/2025 1:25 PM, (Theft)
Loss prevention from a Passaic Street supermarket reported (2) thefts that occurred earlier in the day. Responding officers were displayed surveillance footage of a male repeatedly entering and exiting the liquor with liquor bottles concealed on his person. A suspect vehicle was identified and a few days later summons complaints for shoplifting were issued to a 54-year-old male suspect from Garfield. A court date is pending.

6/8/2025 5:12 PM, (DWI - Arrest)
A caller reported an unoccupied suspicious vehicle under the bleachers of Carlock Field. Officers utilized surveillance cameras to track the driver to Midland School. An on-scene investigation revealed open containers of alcohol in the vehicle and signs of intoxication. The driver, a 69-year-old male from Sussex, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

6/10/2025 10:47 AM, (Fraud)
A store manager from a Passaic Street hobby shop reported a credit card fraud. A suspect purchased $2400 worth of Pokemon cards with a stolen credit card number. Officers quickly established a suspect and are actively investigating.

6/11/2025 4:20 PM, (DWI - Arrest)
A 911 caller reported a male party slumped over the wheel at the intersection of Passaic Street and Rochelle Avenue. Officers located the vehicle with a driver sleeping in the center lane of Passaic Street. He was awoken, removed from the vehicle, and suspected of drunk driving. After a series of field sobriety tests, a 52-year-old male from Jersey City was arrested and charged with several motor vehicle violations. Breathe samples registered readings in excess of double the legal limit.

6/13/2025 3:03 AM, (Suspicious Vehicle)
An officer conducting the overnight parking detail located a vehicle with fictitious plates parked on Forest Place. The vehicle, a Honda Pilot, displayed plates for a Honda Accord. Several summonses were issued and the vehicle was impounded.

6/14/2025 7:56 PM, (Harassment)
A couple from Maywood reported passing a couple near Briarcliff Avenue in Maywood. The groups walked separately to a Rochelle Avenue convenience store. Inside the store the pair approached the couple and stated “get the **ck out of here, you’re not from this town.” Patrol was unable to locate the suspects and the incident was documented.

In addition, (18) suspicious persons/vehicles were vetted and (118) motor vehicle stops were conducted in a 14-day span.
