City officials warn that excessive heat is expected starting Sunday, June 22, 2025 with temperatures anticipated to rise above 100 degree through Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
The hottest conditions are expected on Monday and Tuesday. Please take precautions to prevent heat stress for the elderly, children, people who work outside, and pets.

Heat Safety Guidelines
- DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS: Drink plenty of water or non-alcoholic fluids. Stay away from sugary or alcoholic drinks.
- STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED ROOM: If you don't have air conditioning, go to a public library, shopping mall, or cooling center.
- STAY OUT OF THE SUN: Limit time outdoors, especially during the hottest parts of the day (mid-day to late afternoon).
- CHECK ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS: Especially the elderly, young children, and those with chronic medical conditions.
- NEVER LEAVE YOUNG CHILDREN, PETS, OR VULNERABLE INDIVIDUALS UNATTENDED IN VEHICLES. Car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in minutes.
- WEAR LIGHTWEIGHT AND LOOSE-FITTING CLOTHING: Opt for light-colored clothing.
- KNOW THE WARNING SIGNS OF HEAT ILLNESS: Heat Exhaustion: Heavy sweating, weakness, cold/pale/clammy skin, fast/weak pulse, nausea or vomiting, muscle cramps, faintness vs. Heatstroke: High body temperature (103°F or higher), hot/red/dry or damp skin, rapid/strong pulse, headache, dizziness, nausea, confusion, unconsciousness.
- TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTDOORS. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
