ARRESTED & CHARGED
ISAIAH A. GOODWIN
EASTON, PENNSYLVANIA

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, at approximately 2:00 A.M. the Pohatcong Township Police Department conducted
a motor vehicle stop on Pohatcong Alley in Pohatcong Township. During the course of the investigation, a search
of the motor vehicle was conducted. As a result of the search, a loaded 9mm handgun was recovered, (3) fifteen
round magazines, (1) twenty-one round magazine, hollow point ammunition, as well as a quantity of suspected
methamphetamine. Goodwin was arrested, processed, and lodged in the Warren County Correctional Center.
The vehicle was impounded and stored at Rossnagle’s Service Center, on Route 22, in Lopatcong Township.
Goodwin was charged on a Complaint Warrant with the offenses below.
- Possession of a handgun without first having obtained a permit, in violation of N.J.S.A.
2C:39-5b(1), a crime of the second degree.
- Possession of hollow nose bullets, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3f (1), a crime of the
fourth degree crime.
- (4 counts) Possession of a large capacity magazine, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3j,
a crime of the fourth degree.
- Possession of a firearm, while in possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with
intent to distribute, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4.1a, a crime of the second degree.
- Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, suspected methamphetamine, in
violation of N.J.S.A. 2c:35-10a(1), a crime of the third degree.
- Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute, in
violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5a(1), a crime of the third degree.
- Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and failing to voluntarily deliver that
substance to the nearest law enforcement officer, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10C,
a disorderly persons offense.
This investigation was conducted by the Pohatcong Township Police Department.
Later on the same date, Goodwin was released from the Warren County Correctional Center on pre-trial
monitoring and subject to non-monetary conditions.
On Sunday, June 15, 2025, at approximately 10:30 P.M. the Lopatcong Township Police Department responded
to Rossnagle’s Service Center for a reported armed robbery, with a handgun. The Lopatcong Police Department
was provided information that a black pickup truck fled the scene, traveling west on Route 22. While enroute to
Rossnagle’s officers of the Lopatcong Township Police Department observed a vehicle traveling westbound on
Route 22 matching the description of the vehicle, which moments earlier fled from the armed robbery. Officers
attempted to initiate a motor vehicle stop, however, the driver of the pickup truck eluded police.
As a result of this second investigation, it was determined that the vehicle stolen from Rossnagle’s was the vehicle
previously impounded in Pohatcong Township following Goodwin’s initial arrest. After review of the evidence,
Goodwin was charged on a Warrant Complaint with the below additional crimes.
- Eluding law enforcement while operating a motor vehicle, in violation of N.J.S.A.
2C:29-2b, a crime of the third degree.
- Robbery, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1a(1), a crime of the first degree.
- Aggravated Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(4), a crime of the fourth degree.
- Theft of a motor vehicle, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:20-3a, a crime of the third degree.
- Possession of a handgun without first having obtained a permit, in violation of N.J.S.A.
2C:39-5b(1), a crime of the second degree.
- Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5b(1),
a crime of the second degree.
- Burglary, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2a(1), a crime of the third degree.
On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the US Marshal’s Eastern Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force and the Northampton
County Pennsylvania Auto Theft Task Force located and arrested Goodwin. Goodwin is currently lodged in the
Northampton County Prison awaiting extradition to New Jersey. Upon his return to New Jersey, he will be lodged
in the Warren County Correctional Facility pending a detention motion.
First degree crimes carry a maximum sentence of twenty (20) years in the New Jersey State Prison, second degree
crimes carry a maximum sentence of ten (10) years in the New Jersey State Prison, third degree crimes carry a
maximum sentence of (5) five years in the New Jersey State Prison, and fourth degree crimes carry a maximum
sentence of eighteen (18) months in the New Jersey State Prison. Disorderly persons offenses carry a maximum
sentence of (6) six months in the Warren County Correctional Center.
The charges are merely accusations. The defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond
a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
The Lopatcong Township Police Department conducted this second investigation. They were assisted by the
Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, New Jersey State Police Fugitive Unit, U.S. Marshal’s New Jersey Fugitive
Task Force, U.S. Marshal’s Eastern Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force, Northampton County District Attorney’s
Office, Northampton County Auto Theft Task Force, Slate Belt Regional Police Department, and the Bushkill
Township Police Department.
