On Friday, June 20, 2025, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a Union City man for sex crimes involving a female juvenile.
Francisco Ruiz, 66, is charged with Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b, a crime of the second degree; Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4b(3), a crime of the first degree; Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), a crime of the second degree; Terroristic Threats in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-3b, a crime of the third degree; and Criminal Restraint in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:13-2a, a crime of the third degree. He was arrested at a residence on Avenue C in Bayonne and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.
The crimes occurred at the defendant’s Union City apartment in May 2025. The defendant threatened to harm the 10-year-old victim if she reported the crimes. The two are known as family acquaintances.
The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6)
