The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office is proud to announce it is raising awareness and taking action in recognition of Gun
Safety and Violence Awareness Month. On June 28, 2025, during the Warren County Bicentennial Celebration, the Office
will be holding its first Gun Lock Distribution Event. Our staff will be present at the 200 Year Celebration providing free
firearm safety kits to local residents. The 500 safety kits, which include a cable-style gun lock and informational packet,
will be distributed while supplies last. The locks fit on most types of handguns, rifles and shotguns. The goal is to prevent
a child or any other unauthorized person from accessing the firearm in a home. Proper firearm storage is the number one
way to help prevent firearm accidents, theft and misuse.
Acting Warren County Prosecutor Jessica L. Cardone fully supports this initiative because, “the Warren County Prosecutor’s
Office values the close-knit, and safe culture that defines Warren County. Hosting a gun lock distribution event is our
investment in the continued safety of the community – especially the most vulnerable population - our children. With
responsible firearm storage, together, we are taking proactive steps to prevent tragedy before it can occur. We encourage
all firearm owners to visit our table for their free safety kit.”
