On Saturday, June 21, 2025 at approximately 5:45 A.M., the Phillipsburg Police Department responded to the
area of 7 Brainard Street for the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers entered the residence where they
immediately stopped the assault and took the suspect into custody. Officers initially identified two victims who
sustained stab wounds, one of which sustained life-threatening injuries. Medical aid was rendered on scene and
the victims were transported to the hospital. A third victim was later identified and transported to the hospital for
medical care. The investigation revealed that all of the parties involved in this incident were known to each other.
Additionally, it was discovered that Pierce had an active warrant for his arrest stemming from an incident in
Easton, Pennsylvania.
Pierce was charged on a Complaint Warrant with the offenses below. He is currently lodged in the Warren County
Correctional Center in Belvidere, New Jersey. The Court will hear the State’s Motion for Pretrial Detention on
Monday, June 30, 2025.
- Attempted Homicide, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:5-1a(1) / 2C:11-3a(1), a crime of
the first degree.
- Aggravated Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(1), a crime of the second
degree.
- (2 counts) Aggravated Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(2), a crime of the
third degree.
- Unlawful Possession of Weapon, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4d, a crime of the
third degree crime.
- Unlawful Possession of Weapon, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5d, a crime of the
fourth.
- Fugitive from Justice, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2A:160-10.
First degree crimes carry a maximum sentence of twenty (20) years, second degree crimes carry a maximum
sentence of ten (10) years, third degree crimes a maximum sentence of five (5) years, and fourth degree crimes
carry a maximum sentence of eighteen (18) months in New Jersey State Prison.
The charges are merely accusations. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable
doubt in a court of law.
This investigation was conducted by the Phillipsburg Police Department and the Warren County Prosecutor’s
Office. Assisting at the scene was the Warren County Regional Crime Scene Team.
