Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-InCharge Patrick Murray announce that on July 4, 2025, at approximately 8:49 a.m., members of
the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Broadway and Carroll Street in
Paterson, New Jersey on a reported fight. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered the
victim, a 44-year-old male from Paterson, New Jersey, lying in the middle of the street
unresponsive. The victim was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for
treatment. On July 8, 2025, the victim was pronounced deceased.
This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes
available.
