One Dead Following Shooting in Paterson

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Patrick Murray announce that on July 12, 2025, at approximately 10:42 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Clinton Street and Garfield Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of shots fired. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered the victim, a 52-year-old male from Hackensack, New Jersey lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.

This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
