Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Patrick Murray announce that at approximately 10:00 p.m. on July 12, 2025, members
of the Paterson Police Department were notified that an unresponsive 5-year old child had
arrived via private vehicle at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey.
According to witnesses, the child had been found by family members shortly before 10:00 p.m.,
completely submerged underwater in a pool at his residence located in the area of Marshall
Street and Mary Street in Paterson, New Jersey. The child was pronounced deceased at 10:02
p.m.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it
becomes available.
