Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

Bergen County is hosting a household hazardous waste collection event this Saturday, July 19 at the Bergen County Campgaw Mountain Reservation, 200 Campgaw Road in Mahwah. For details visit the Borough website or www.bcua.org

The water company supplying Tenafly homes, Veolia, is offering free Lead Service Line Testing and replacement of lead service pipes. Please visit the Borough website for details and contact information.

Our Summer Concert series continues in Huyler Park next Tuesday, July 22 at 7:00 pm featuring the high fidelity classic rock of Second Contact. Then on Thursday, July 24, it is the 60’s to now rock of Tree Oh! Check the Borough website for a full list of concert dates.

Soak up the Sunshine this weekend at the Nature Center! On Saturday, July 19 at 10:00 am, bring your little ones ages 3 to 7 to Nature Story Time, for fun-filled reading and a visit from one of TNC’s amazing animal ambassadors. Think turtles, frogs, maybe even an owl! Then at 11:00 am, our friends from the Senior Center are hosting Tree ID at TNC, a hands-on event for adults to learn how to identify trees using leaf pressing and journaling, plus time to socialize and enjoy the great outdoors.

And don’t miss Heal and Hike on Sunday, July 20 at 10:30 am, a peaceful, guided hike and meditation for adults, led by a certified instructor from the Graf Center for Integrative Medicine. Nature is calling—come explore, learn, and unwind with us at the Nature Center. Space is limited, so register today at tenaflynaturecenter.org

On Wednesday, July 23, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Senior Center, join us for “Painting With A Purpose”, a charity event for the Alzheimer's Association. A donation of $10 allows you to paint a flowerpot and enjoy snacks with friends. Please call the Center to register - everyone is welcome. Help us raise funds for this important cause.

Join us on Monday, August 4 at Montammy Golf Club to celebrate 25 years of the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades Play Fore! the Kids—a day of golf, tennis and community. From a high-energy shoot-out to a live DJ and amazing swag, this event supports vital programs for children of all abilities through the Guttenberg Center for Special Services.
