1. On May 22, 2025, at approximately 11:40 a.m., Police Officer Harry Montalvo was on patrol
when he observed an individual he recognized as 47-year-old Edwin Allende of Hoboken and
knew had an outstanding warrant out of Hoboken. The officer stopped Allende. Police Officers
Estrella and Huggins arrived on the scene to assist. Two warrants were confirmed; one for
harassment, the other for driving while intoxicated. Allende was arrested for the warrants and
additionally charged with bail jumping. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for
processing before being released on bail with a new court date.
2. On May 22, 2025, at approximately 12:55 p.m., Police Officers Aaron Font and Frank
Lombardo responded to the Morris County Correctional Facility to pick up 44-year-old Roland
Gaskin of Jersey City, who had a warrant out of Hoboken. Gaskin was transported to Hoboken
Police Headquarters and processed on the warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was
ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
3. On May 22, 2025, at approximately 1:35 p.m., Police Officers Anthony Hochstadter and
Teddy Santiago responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifting where the
actor was in custody of store security. An on-scene investigation revealed the individual, later
identified as 23-year-old Justinian Aurora of Hoboken, was seen putting a total of $122.78 worth
of merchandise in a backpack without paying for it. Aurora was transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters and charged with shoplifting. After being processed, he was released with a
summons.
4. On May 22, 2025, at approximately 7:20 pm., Police Officers Valentino Salgado and Roberto
Cuevas responded to Thomas Ice Cream Shop, 214 Jefferson St., on reports of a person
attempting to take items without paying for them. There were also reports of a physical
altercation between the individual and an employee. An on-scene investigation revealed the actor
grabbed candy out of a jar without paying, took money out of the tip jar, and tried to grab money
out of the register. When an employee attempted to get the actor to leave, the individual
threatened the employee with violence before eventually leaving the store. Shortly afterwards,
Sgt. McCourt and Police Officers Dylan Archilla and Leroy Sherrill responded to the 100 block
of Madison Street, on reports that an individual with a similar description was acting disorderly.
It was determined to be the same individual from the earlier altercation. Sgt. McCourt observed
an individual who matched the description given by witnesses in the area of Second and Monroe
Streets. The individual was detained and transported to Police Headquarters, where they were
identified as 30-year-old Tiffany Flowers of New York City. Flowers was charged with robbery,
processed, and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correction Facility.
5. On May 23, 2025, at approximately 2 a.m., Sgt. Michael Losurdo was on patrol on the 200
Willow Avenue when he spotted a vehicle which he knew belonged to an individual named 30-
year-old Darnel Walker of Hoboken, who he also knew had multiple active warrants for his
arrest. The warrants were confirmed, and Sgt. Losurdo approached the vehicle and asked Walker
to step out. More officers arrived on the scene to assist. As Walker got out of the car, officers
observed a handgun in the driver’s side door, which was later confirmed to be a spring-loaded
pellet gun loaded with hard round pellets. Extra pellet ammunition wrapped in a plastic bag was
also located in the driver’s door of the vehicle. Walker was placed under arrest on a warrant for
multiple traffic violations. He was additionally charged with certain persons not to have a
weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon. Walker was transported to Hoboken Police
headquarters, processed, and ultimately taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
6. On May 23, 2025, at approximately 3:45 p.m., a man identified as 43-year-ol Brian Taylor of
Hoboken, responded to Hoboken Police Headquarters to be processed for an active warrant out
of Hoboken for trespassing and possession of CDS. He was processed and taken to the Hudson
County Correctional Facility.
7. On May 23, 2025, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Police Officers Dylan Archilla and Leroy
Sherrill responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifter in custody of store
security. An on-scene investigation revealed a man identified as 51-year-old Daniel Marrero of
Jersey City was seen by security officers placing 10 coffee containers, worth approximately $64
in total, into an empty bag. When he made his way toward the exit without paying, Marrero was
stopped by loss prevention officers. Marerro was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters
and charged with shoplifting. It was discovered he had a warrant out of Pennsylvania. He was
additionally charged with being a fugitive from justice and ultimately transported to the Hudson
Correctional Facility.
8. On May 23, 2025, at approximately 9:40 p.m.., Police Officer Stephen Chowanec responded
to the 500 block of Madison St., on reports of a disturbance. Police Officer Roberto Cuevas was
also on scene. Sgt. Daniel Grossi and Sgt. Roary Miller arrived on the scene to assist. An on-scene investigation revealed that an individual, later identified as 64-year-old Rafael Mederos of
Hoboken, banged on the door of another man, tried to enter, and threatened the other man with
violence. It was discovered Mederos had an active warrant out of North Arlington, and he was
arrested. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and was additionally charged with
criminal attempted burglary and making terroristic threats. After being processed, he was
transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
9. On May 24, 2025, at approximately 1:24 a.m., Police Officers Carmen Benitez and Brandon
Cappelluti responded to the 100 block of Washington Street on reports of a man sleeping in the
vestibule of a residential apartment building. When they arrived, they woke up the man, later
identified as 67-year-old Alejandro Ordonez of Franklin Lakes, and informed him about the
Hoboken Shelter and asked if he needed any medical attention. He refused both, was issued a
summons for trespassing, told he couldn't return to the building, and released.
10. On May 24, 2025, at approximately 3:05 a.m., Sgt. Daniel Grossi, Sgt. Michael Losurdo, and
Police Officers Jaydan Gonzalez, David Chicara, Keven De La Cruz, and Stephen Chowanec
responded to the 100 block of Washington Street on reports of a fight. When they arrived,
officers observed two large groups in a heated verbal dispute. After separating the two groups,
one man continued to shout and removed his shirt, in an attempt to engage in a fight with a
passerby. While that man, later identified as 22-year-old Ricardo Mexica of Union City, was
being placed under arrest, another man, later identified as 21-year-old John Rodriguez of
Weehawken, intervened. Rodriquez was advised he would be placed under arrest for aggravated
assault, and he resisted. Another man, identified as 23-year-old Oscar Martinez of Union City,
also attempted to interfere in both arrests. When he was told he would be placed under arrest,
Martinez fled the scene. A fourth man, later identified as 23-year-old Walter Majano of
Weehawken, also attempted to interfere in the other arrests. He also smacked the arm of one of
the officers and engaged in a fighting stance. When he was told he was being placed under arrest,
he resisted refusing to put his hands behind his back when ordered to. After being placed in
handcuffs, he spit at one of the officers, making contact with the officer's face. Martinez returned
to the scene but fled again. Officers pursued him this time and when Martinez fell, he was
arrested. The four men were transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. Mexica was charged
with riot/failure to disperse and disorderly conduct. Rodriguez was charged with aggravated
assault on a law enforcement officer, riot/failure to disperse, resisting arrest, hindering the
apprehension of another, and disorderly conduct. Majano was charged with throwing bodily
fluids at a law enforcement officer, riot/failure to disburse, aggravated assault on law
enforcement, and resisting arrest. Martinez was charged with riot/failure to disburse, resisting by
flight, and disorderly conduct. All four were released with summonses after being processed.
11. On May 24, 2025, at approximately 6:55 p.m., Police Officers Nasir Willey and Enrico
Gnassi responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifting with the actor in
custody of loss prevention officers. An on-scene investigation revealed an individual, later
identified as 43-year-old Janiece Barber of Jersey City, was seen placing groceries in a bag and
then attempting to leave with approximately $110 worth of unpaid merchandise. A search
incident to arrest located a glass cylindrical pipe in Barber’s possession. Barber was transported
to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with shoplifting and possession of drug
paraphernalia.
12. On May 24, 2025, Police Officer Marc Lombardi responded to Tally-Ho, 215 Washington
St., on reports of an intoxicated man harassing female patrons. Police Officers Dylan Archilla
and Joseph Lupo also responded. When they arrived, they saw a man who matched the
description of the individual later identified as 37-year-old Jaswani Stewart of Hamburg.
Sergeants John Quinones and Roary Miller arrived on the scene. An on-scene investigation
revealed Stewart exposed himself and conducted a lewd act in front of two female customers.
Stewart was arrested for criminal sexual contact and transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters. He was processed, issued a summons, and released from police custody.
13. On May 27, 2025, at approximately 3 p.m., Sgt. James Barbro and Police Officer Aaron
Font responded to Lululemon, 313 Washington St., on reports of a shoplifting where the actor
had just left the store. As they arrived, they observed a male who fit the description of the
individual and told him to stop. The man, later identified as 52-year-old Charles McClendon of
Brooklyn, dropped the bags he was carrying and ran away. Officers quickly caught up with
McClendon and arrested him. A search incident to arrest located a glass cylindrical tube with a
burnt end and steel wool inside. Police Officer Jonathan Figueroa arrived and located the bags
that McClendon had dropped, which had items stolen from Lululemon inside. Those items,
worth approximately $1,364, were returned to the store. McClendon was transported to Hoboken
Police Headquarters. He was charged with shoplifting, obstruction of the administration of the
law, and possession of drug paraphernalia. It was discovered he had a warrant out of Carteret. He
was released into the custody of a local hospital, with a summons.
14. On May 27, 2025, at approximately 6 p.m., Police Officer Rose Kanan was near the
intersection of First and Madison Streets, when she observed an individual, she identified as 34-
year-old Christopher Peselli of Jersey City who she believed had an active warrant. Sgt. Roary
Miller and Police Officers Roberto Cuevas, Shyenna Vega, Valentino Salgado, and Alexander
Miller arrived on the scene to assist. a warrant against Peselli, out of West New York, was
confirmed. He was arrested and transported to the West New York Police Department for
processing,
15. On May 28, 2025, at approximately 6 a.m., Police Officer Michael Aviles responded to CVS,
59 Washington St., on reports of a shoplifting. Sgt. Daniel Grossi and Police Officers Frank
Losurdo and Zackary Guido arrived to assist. An on-scene investigation revealed a man, later
identified as 52-year-old Charles McClendon of Brooklyn, had taken approximately $339.70
worth of items out of the store, without paying for them. Police Officers Ronald Kibitlewski,
Zackary Guido, and Frank Losurdo also responded. McClendon was located around the corner,
arrested, and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. It was discovered McClendon had a
warrant out of Carteret and that he had been arrested by Hoboken Police the night before.
McClendon was processed, given a court date, and released from police custody.
16. On May 28, 2025, at approximately 4:40 p.m., Police Officers Alexander Miller and Leroy
Sherrill responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifting. An on-scene
investigation revealed an individual, later identified as 39-year-old Gina Gonzalez-Diaz of
Hoboken, was seen trying to leave the store with approximately $142.20 worth of merchandise
she didn’t pay for before being stopped by store security. She was transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters and charged with shoplifting. After processing, she was released with a summons.
17. On May 28, 2025, at approximately 10:55 p.m., Police Officer Mario Rodriguez responded
to the 1300 block of Washington Street, on reports of a man threatening another with a knife. An
on-scene investigation revealed the individual, later identified as 49-year-old Gary Key of
Hoboken, began screaming racial slurs and exposed himself, before getting into a verbal
argument with another person in the building, brandishing a knife, and threatening to use the
knife on the other person. Sgt. Jason Falco, Sgt. Frances McCourt, and Police Officers Alexander
Miller, Valentino Salgado, Robert Cuevas, Alyssa Rivera, Kyle Seper, and Brian Kim arrived to
assist. Key refused to come out of his apartment and yelled racial slurs through the door. He
eventually came out of the unit and was arrested. During a search, Key spit on one of the
officers. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he refused to be
fingerprinted. It was found he was wanted on warrants out of multiple municipalities including
Hoboken, Morristown, Newark, and Morris County. He was charged with making terroristic
threats, aggravated assault, lewdness, and refusal to submit to fingerprinting. He continued to act
disorderly, by making sexual remarks, exposing himself, and conducting a lewd act inside the
processing room. He was additionally charged with making terroristic threats, aggravated assault,
lewdness, and refusal to fingerprint. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County
Correctional Facility.
