1. On July 20th, 2025, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police
Department’s Patrol Division arrested 32-year-old Johan S. Amaya-Tovar of
Hackensack, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Amaya-Tovar was then
transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the
completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Amaya-Tovar was issued numerous
summonses for traffic violations and then released into the care of staff from the
Palisades Medical Center.
The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed
innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
