1. On July 26th, 2025, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division
responded to a residence on 68th Street after receiving a report of an attempted
burglary. During their on-scene investigation, officers arrested 28-year-old Luis A.
Castilleja of Union City, NJ, for criminal mischief [2C:17-3(1)]. Mr. Castilleja was
then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon
the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Castilleja was issued his complaint
summons and then released from police custody.
2. On July 27th, 2025, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police
Department’s Patrol Division arrested 35-year-old Alejandro L. Garcia-Piguave of
Union City, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Garcia-Piguave was then
transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the
completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Garcia-Piguave was issued numerous
summonses for traffic violations and then released into the care of a responsible
adult.
3. On July 27th, 2025, the Guttenberg Police Department was notified by the Jersey City
Police Department that they had a male in their custody, who had an active warrant
issued by the Guttenberg Municipal Court. Shortly after, 21-year-old Marsean D.
Alomar of Jersey City, NJ, was transported to the Guttenberg Police Department,
where he was placed under arrest and processed for the active warrant. Upon the
completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Alomar was released on his own recognizance,
pending his next court appearance with the Guttenberg Municipal Court.
The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed
innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
