On Monday, July 28, 2025, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit arrested an individual in connection with the death of a male on Neptune Avenue.
Scott Bradley, 35, of Jersey City, is charged with one count of Murder in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3a(1)/(2), a crime of the first degree. He was arrested in the area of Randolph and Claremont Avenues and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.
On Friday, July 25, 2025, shortly after 9 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of an injured person in the area of Neptune and Garfield Avenues. Responding officers located an unresponsive male, later identified as Joey Richburg, 56, of Jersey City. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 9:42 a.m. The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the Cause of Death to be Blunt Force Injury to the Head and the Manner of Death to be Homicide.
The above charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6)
