Teenage Male Shot in Paterson

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Patrick Murray announce that at approximately 1:56 p.m. on August 11, 2025, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of 11th Avenue and East 23rd Street on a report of a shooting. Police were able to locate a potential crime scene in the area but were unable to locate a victim at the time. Later on in the evening, Paterson Police were dispatched to the area of Fair Street and East 18th Street on a report of an individual suffering from a non-fatal gunshot. Paterson Police were able to locate a 19-year-old male victim, who was transported via ambulance to St. Jospeh’s University Medical Center in Paterson for treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound. Based on the investigation it was determined that the male was shot in the area of 11th Avenue and East 23rd Street in Paterson, New Jersey.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
