Fitness Activities for the Week of September 1, 2025

Feel like you are becoming a couch potato? Then get off the sofa, and check out these upcoming fitness activities happening in Northern New Jersey.

Easy & relaxed game - suitable for players of all levels. Register with 100% commitment. Last-minute drop and NO-SHOW are discouraged. If you need to drop, do it before noon on the game day. NO CLEATS... Bring 1 Black shirt & 1 White shirt. Please be on time and help set up the game.
2. Gossip Pace Run - Mondays @ 6:30pm

This run is designed specifically for runners who are at paces 10min/mile and up. Run/walkers are also encouraged to join. We do a gently-paced one mile loop, usually two or three times. If you are nervous about attending a group run, this event is a great place to start!

4. 4 Mile Run in Rutherford - meet at Rutherford Train Station

This will be a 4 mile run or so through the streets of Rutherford. If you want a completely flat run, this run's not for you as there are gradual uphills and downhills throughout the run. You are strongly encouraged to wear reflective gear. We run in the street and anything we can do to make ourselves more visible to drivers can only improve our safety.

Looking to meet a new climbing community? Maybe you've just moved and would like to meet some new climbing partners? Or you are new to the community and sport and would like to meet up with some new friends! Meet at 7:00PM, X-road of Reservoir Ave and Central Ave. Near the Pershing Field Children's play area. It is a Leisure run, no runners shall be left behind. General pace is 9-10:30min pace per mile. Mileage, route, and pace are all flexible, but our usual route is 5.25 miles. It is suggested that wearing reflective clothing/ a headlamp if you have one is good practice.

Meet at 7:00AM at KEY FOOD to run a semi-shady a 2.15 mile loop (or two for double the distance!). Very flexible and pace-friendly run; we prioritize people running 11-12+ min/mile paces. THIS IS NOT A SPEEDY RUN. Running late? Join at Key Food around 7.25/7.30am for the second loop!
8. Stonewall Senders - an LGBTQ+ monthly climbing meetup group

Please arrive around 630pm and come to the front desk, make sure you sign a waiver beforehand! First time climbers will need a brief orientation, this is run by the Goat staff (they're super friendly!) After that come find us, we'll be on the ground floor in the bouldering area! Comfy clothes and a water bottle are a smart move, and if you have your own climbing gear feel free to bring it with you!
9. 4 Mile Run in Ridgewood (Wild Duck Pond)

We will start at the "Wild Duck Pond Area" and will turn around at some point. If you'd like to run additional miles, you are certainly more than welcome to do so as the mile markers make it simple to track your distance. Depending on the turnout we sometimes break off into little groups of two or three people, each of which may go at slightly different paces and/or distances. Nobody gets left in the dust.

This will be a 3-5 mile route that goes through the streets of Ridgewood. We will meet outside of Sweet Kitchen at the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and Oak Street/Van Neste Square across from the big clock. The route is flexible and mostly on sidewalks.

Inviting all beginner runners to come together this Saturday. Amazing Feet is a Running and Walking group. There are runners and walkers of all paces from absolute beginners to marathoners. As a beginning runner, you may consider running a short distance, and then walking a short distance. Alternating between the two until you feel more comfortable. There are many people just starting out.

We will likely start by hitting the ball around and then break up into two teams for two or three hours of play. There's no fee to play volleyball and nothing else you need to do besides show up. All are welcome!!! We're not in a league and are not here to analyze your form. We're more for people who haven't played in months, maybe years, and just want to occasionally play again and hang out.

Join us at Overpeck Park Tennis Courts in Leonia! All levels welcome including beginners! :) Bring your own racquet, balls, water, etc. :) Typically we are just beginners looking to improve our game. If you are more advanced then we should try and make sure that you are on opposing teams with other advanced players to make things more even. We will typically just volley or play short casual sets.

When you are there, you will not think about anything else except fun and relaxation. All levels are welcome.
