One Dead Following Fire at Residence in Paterson
454 E 31st St, Paterson, NJ

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Patrick Murray, and Paterson Fire Chief Alex Alicea announce that on September 4, 2025, at approximately 6:13 p.m., the Paterson Fire Department was dispatched to 454 East 31st Street in Paterson on a report of a residential fire. A 51-year-old man from Paterson was found inside the residence and transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.

This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
