1. On September 8th, 2025, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg
Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau arrested 36-year-old Jhad S.
Awawda of North Bergen, NJ, for obstructing the administration of law [2C:29-1A]
and resisting arrest [2C:29-2A]. Mr. Awawda was then transported to the Guttenberg
Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest
processing, Mr. Awawda was issued his complaint summons, various summonses for
traffic violations and then released from police custody.
2. On September 12th, 2025, a female walked into the Guttenberg Police Department,
informing our officers that she believed she had a warrant for her arrest. Upon
receiving confirmation, 23-year-old Evelynne Mitchell of West New York, NJ, was
placed under arrest for an active warrant, issued by the Guttenberg Municipal Court.
Ms. Mitchell was processed for the active warrant and then released on her own
recognizance, pending her next court appearance with the Guttenberg Municipal
Court.
3. On September 13th, 2025, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg
Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 52-year-old Jendry A. Ortiz-Flores of
Jersey City, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Ortiz-Flores was
transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the
completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Ortiz-Flores was issued numerous
summonses for traffic violations and then released to staff of the Palisades Medical
Center.
The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed
innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
