439 66th Street, West New York, NJ
On Thursday, September 18, 2025, the Honorable Angelo Servidio, J.S.C. sentenced a 38-year-old man to 45 years in New Jersey State Prison for his role in his mother’s 2021 death in West New York.
A jury found Emmanuel Gonzalez, of West New York, guilty of Murder following a trial in January 2025. The sentence is subject to the No Early Release Act.
On Thursday January 14, 2021, at approximately 1:30 p.m., members of the West New York Police Department responded to 439 66th Street on a report of an unresponsive female. Upon arrival, officers were met by Emmanuel Gonzalez, who is the son of the victim. Officers were directed to a bedroom where the female, later identified as Irma Gonzalez, 62, of West New York, was found unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the Cause of Death to be Blunt Force Trauma and Manner to be Homicide.
