PA Man Sentenced for Gun Charges in Phillipsburg

On Monday, September 15, 2025, Lamarr Duncan was sentenced in Warren County Superior Court by the Honorable H. Matthew Curry, J.S.C. on an Indictment charging Certain Persons Prohibited from Possessing Weapons, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-7b(1), a crime of the second degree. On July 22, 2025, Duncan plead guilty to this charge. Pursuant to statute, Duncan was sentenced to five (5) years in New Jersey State Prison with a five (5) year term of Parole ineligibility. This (5) year State Prison sentence shall be served prior to Duncan being eligible for parole.

By way of background, on June 22, 2024, Phillipsburg Police Department responded to a report of an individual with a firearm. It was further reported that the individual was in a motor vehicle that was driving towards the Easton-Phillipsburg Free Bridge. A motor vehicle stop was conducted at Union Square, during which time a loaded 9mm handgun was recovered. After an investigation was conducted, Duncan was charged with firearm related offenses.

This investigation was conducted by the Phillipsburg Police Department.
