Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.
Please join us as we dedicate the street entrance to the Borough Hall complex in honor of Edan Alexander. Monday, September 29 at 11:00 am. The ceremony will take place at 100 Riveredge Road.
September wraps up with forest stewardship and a sneak peak at some not-so-spooky fun at the Nature Center! Help protect the preserve with Forest Defenders on September 28, 10:00 am to Noon. Volunteers of all ages are welcome. Keep the fall spirit going every Sunday with Apple Cider Making, bring apples and lend a hand at the press. And don’t miss the Haunted Forest on October 26: meet live nocturnal animals, enjoy campfire treats, crafts, and games, and experience the forest’s magic after dark (costumes encouraged!). Join the Tenafly Library Friends for their annual Manhattan Short Film Festival. Watch short films from around the world and vote for your favorites. Films are for adults and will be hosted in the Library Friends Room on Sunday, September 28 and Tuesday, September 30, both at 1:00 pm. The same films will be shown at both screenings.
ACEing Autism kicked off its fall season at the JCC meeting Sundays at 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm, and continuing for the next several weeks. ACEing helps children benefit from social connections, fitness and fun. If you are interested in signing up your child ages 5 to 18 to participate, or if high school students and adults want to volunteer, please email kaplenjcc@ACEingautism.org. No tennis experience is required.

The Presbyterian Church presents its Fall For Music Festival, Saturday, October 4, beginning at 3 pm with a fun kids sing-along workshop. Then at 4:00 pm enjoy live music and family friendly games with Nik Rael & Friends on the music stage. All free of charge. Then at 6:00 pm it’s fish and chips (or chicken and chips) $20 per person, $10 per child. Please RSVP to 201-567-0111. Finally, at 7:00 pm experience Tenafly's own Hart Family Showcase in the sanctuary at 55 Magnolia Avenue. Free of charge, donations welcome.

Calling all singers! Join the Tenafly Community Choir and Orchestra singing excerpts from Handel’s Messiah, Faure’s Cantique de Jean Racine, Rutter’s What Sweeter Music, and Vaughan Williams’ Christmas Day and secular music of the season. Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm starting October 28 in preparation for the concert on December 14 at 7:00 pm. Rehearsals at 55 Magnolia Avenue. RSVP 201-567-0111.
