Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 41-year-old ASHER YOUNIS of Dumont, NJ on charges of aggravated sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact, and sexual assault. These charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, and the Hackensack Police Department, under the direction of Chief Michael Antista.
On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the Hackensack Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged sexual assault that occurred that morning at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Hackensack Police Department revealed that ASHER YOUNIS, an electrocardiogram technician, sexually assaulted an adult female patient.
As a result of the investigation, on September 30, 2025, ASHER YOUNIS was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(7); second-degree sexual assault N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(1); and third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3a. YOUNIS was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ.
